I miss Hookers hamburgers on Berry in Fort Worth and the old bowling alley that was on University. I can't remember the name. I also miss the SWC. It once had a proud home in DFW.

The NEXT DOOR in Richardson was AWESOME.

The river walk at collin creek also brings back memories, i got a hand job from the popcorn girl that worked across from art explosion once in high school.

Judge Roy Bean's was the only holdout in Carrollton with a smoking room until Los Lupes and I'm sure others. It was a sealed, glassed in room with a bar. Sort of exhibit-like.

Place had a pretty good food!

Its been gone a long time and I barel remember it but I really thought Olla Podrida mall was cool when I was a kid. My mom used to take guitar lessons there and I'd wander around and buy gummy worms and I think there was a place that sold chain mail. Been a long time since I've been there. 25 years?

Olla Podrida was a one-of-a-kind place. Some of the stores tried to move to other locales after Olla Podrida closed, but, as far as I can tell, none were as successful as they were before. My kids and I used to love spending an afternoon browsing through the stores and, occasionally, actually being able to afford some of the things there.

Wow. Olla Podrida. Have not heard that name in 20 years.

Googled to find this

Wasn't there an air strip/airport where Olla Podrida once called home?

That article is a great description of how I remember that mall. I still have a small hand blown glass vase that I bought there.

Here's a couple of more places.

I miss spending time browsing through Sound Warehouse (Preston and Belt Line store and Coit/Promenade Center store) and Bills records and finding new music for my record and tape players. There was also a Bills type record store at Belt Line and Central by the JC Penney store in that shopping center but can't remember their name though. The closest I've found to equal these stores is a place called CD Warehouse on Belt Line by Freebirds Addison where I can find obscure music especially Texas bands.

I also miss the glamor the Galleria once was. I went there yesterday and as very depressed at what it's turned out to be now. I remember going there and seeing the high end stores throughout the mall wondering if I was ever going to make enough money to afford the merchandise in them. I went there yesterday and saw where a big majority of the mall consists of stores you'd find a Valley View or any other run of the mill mall. The few high end stores left were moved to the bottom floor and had maybe a handful of them.

Good call, ducks. That place was, in my opinion, the best club floor-plan in Dallas. The back porch area was just an awesome place to be in the spring and fall

I miss the small airport at Garland Rd. and LBJ. Everytime we would go past it as a kid, my imagination would go wild and I luv looking at the old planes.

It is a soccer complex now.

Here's another place I enjoyed visiting as kid with my mom. Treasury which was a Walmart/Target type store from what I remember. It was on Midway and LBJ where Walmart is today.

I also like going to Tupinamba when it was near European Crossroads by Bachman lake. I know Tupinamba is still around and in the Crystal's pizza palace spot but it was fun going over to their old location.

Malibu miniture golf place off of Stemons.

The Cotton bowl during the SWC days when the bowl game really mattered in college football. They would have a pretty cool parade nationally broadcasted the morning of the game. I especially liked watching the parade and looking for the Aggie band.

Still a Minyards down the street from where I live. I remember when it used to be 24 hours and we'd yahoo beer there.

Now it's like the Land Before Time in there.

A friend mentioned Garfield's Restaurant in the Parks Mall. I hadn't thought about it in forever, and I even worked there for a couple of years in high school.
