Pretty sure that's old. They have backtracked on that estimate and are now saying they have no idea when it will be re-stored.

Yea he's the deal. The council was the one who put that timeline out. AE had no idea they were going to do that. This is the worst damage I've ever experienced in my 15 plus years as an Engineer.

We are working 16 hours shifts and have guys working 24/7 around the clock. Everything from poles down, wire down, damaged equipment and so forth.

Also have Transmission lines down which wont allow us to heat up the Distribution till thats fixed. We are continuing to bring on more outside help from other Utilities & more contractors.

We are going to keep working and ignore all the politics. We care about trying to get you guys power. I know it's frustrating but this storm will be an official disaster. They have submitted that to the proper channels.

I'm going to be honest cause we are all Ags. AE is going to be working through Sunday or longer IMO. That's just how much damage there is across the grid even working around the clock.

I hope I get to meet everyone that I've talked to when this is over and have some beers. Gig'em

We are even flying drones to help sped up the identification of damage on the system.

Thanks for the update man. I don't think anyone's mad at AE as there's really nothing anyone could have done (except maybe get rid of oak trees all across Texas, lol). I went ahead and made a hotel room reservation for the wife and kids as I'm pretty sure this is going to extend until at least Sunday. Y'all be safe and it'll get fixed when it gets fixed. Very much appreciate the updates!

I appreciate the efforts of you and your other workers. I am on PEC and have power (just lots of tree damage), but hopefully the people you encounter are supportive. Nothing is the fault of the people working to restore the power lines.

Hopefully more out of town crews arrive soon to help out, 16 hour shifts sounds like it could be a safety issue if you do that enough days in a row.

Hell,

You guys need volunteers? I like to think that I am a competent Army Captain haha

I understand it could be a liability. If not, just like when the tornado came, there should be several organizations looking for assistance around Austin.

Let us know, if you have any leads on volunteer roles.

Got a new chainsaw chain. The line at Travis Tractor was 35 deep. We got started and the guys we hired to take out the last four trees from the last ice age showed up. They were supposed to be here Tuesday. Six chainsaws, seven people, and about four hours later two thirds of the front yard is done. Maybe half a dozen trees from the neighbor's yard that fell into our's and we'll be done with the front. Big surprise to get so much done today. The street chat blew up. How did they get a crew that fast? We did the neighbor's trees on the road on both sides. It's the only two way part of our street. It's a war zone out there.

Much appreciated. I used to also work at PEC at HQ in Engineering. My Dad & 2 Uncles all retired at PEC. I'm also a PEC member myself.

I would think you should be able to volunteer. We just had some folks bring meals out to the field. I'm not sure what it is yet but I'm going to tear it up & it's definitely a cool gesture.

I'm getting really frustrated as well. We're at Anderson Mill and Parmer roughly and have been without power for 48 hours now. My wife and 2 kids and I are currently hanging out at my office in east Austin.

Pappy? He didn't cure cancer or save my kids life. I was hoping he would say some Eagle Rare.

LMAO

We could put some nice sample pours together.

Or just host a nice bourbon night. Got a lot of friends in the cedar park area that would be happy to get that going.
