We're on Karen. All the gas stations and Bird Bird Biscuit have power. Arroyo Seco is a disaster.

You have been a trooper man! Text circulating from friends this morning that city of Austin will be losing water early afternoon and to fill bathtubs
When I say today - I mean Thursday 2/2
Heard anything like that or any other water districts, west Austin - Barton creek area?
After all this is said and done, id like to invite you over for some bourbon and hospitality.BurnetAggie99 said:
Sorry I've been out in the field. We are in Lost Creek/Barton Springs/Westlake hills currently.

It's all hands on deck even for the Engineers like myself. This area is bad. A 500 foot metal communications tower fell over due to ice likely over loaded its guy system. When it fell it wiped out the primary lines and 4 poles. This just one example of what we dealing with.
I was strangely addicted to watching the ice fall off my trees and shrubs.HECUBUS said:
Pleasant thaw sounds. Unless you're under a tree.

Just read an article on burying lines retro. About a million a mile. No idea how much that adds up to but I'm sure you can start at a billion. And it said repair is much more costly and invasive. Think of when the city has to dig up water pipes. A mess.
