The only thing important about your pictures is that you are pleased with them. I'm glad! By the way, your dress is beautiful.

For real, if you like them, then good, dont listen to these people. This whole thread came to be because of people's differing views and personalities. Besides, they aren't knocking you or your wedding, rather the photographer, his attitude and style.

I am the midget whose top of head was in one of those pictures by the artificial plant. I think it is a very unflattering picture of my cow lick. Something should really be done about this!

Motorcop, is that the official position of CSPD? (Thinking of an earlier thread.)

Just for the record, my comments about Sykes's photography were based on his "galleries" linked from the main page of his website, not photos of any one event.

There's a reason most photographers password-protect their online photosets from individual shoots....

Only if you continue to deny that:
a) dine and dash doesn't mean eat and run, and
b) you didn't dine and dash.

Where's GS? I wanted to get his response to the partial pwnag3 about the father/bride rewalking the aisle with empty pew thing above.

The wedding that was most recently and ruthlessly "critiqued" was mine. Maybe I shouldn't even be posting anything, because obviously this thread needs to die out and I don't want to further fuel the fire.

My family, my husband and all of my friends, who I have talked to, are completely satisfied and beyond happy with the pictures.

That you are happy is all that really matters to you, is it not?
I can give my professional opinion on the photographic quality, but it is only my professional opinion.

quote:
He took the exact type of pictures that we asked for, and I personally like the angles (which if you have looked through as many bridal magazines as I have the past year, you would know that is the way those pictures SHOULD be taken).

Sadly, I have probably looked at many more bridal pictures than any Knottie Bride to be. You dont become a good photographer by chance. There is a lot involved in study and execution.

But if you got the shots you wanted, they why does my opinion matter to you?

quote:
FYI, we didn't have a huge wedding (St. Mary's needs about 800-900 people to fill the downstairs), so the empty pews that are seen when my daddy is walking me down the isle are empty for real. I don't think I could have walked down the isle twice and held it together, so that picture is authentic and one of my favorites (please don't knock it).

Makes sense. Many photographers have to stage pictures like this a second time because they are too lazy to do the leg work. Very common and I think unethical practice. The picture should have then been when you were close to the front, because the people in the immediate vicinity would drown out the emptiness.

But the ultimate decision is yours. If you are happy - don't care about what other people think. It is something you can't do over. So enjoy your pictures. And feel free to critique any of the pictures on my website.

Are you folks saying midgets can't have their own opinion? Its bad enough being frowned down upon for being a motor officer but now to harass me since I am a midget? I know no one can decide on a good photographer, can anyone recommend a good lawyer?

Jokes aside, I need some ideas. The 9 months session is coming up and since there are some pros on here I'd like some advice/ideas on a cute theme. Baby is supposed to be able to stand holding on to something - working on it - and I'd love to have some cute theme. I did check out the “competition” (Darrin) but didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.

You make a full blown idiot of yourself on here, then want to ask for help/opinions?

This thread really does have it all.

If you have the pics at least the kid might not be surprised when it ends up behind bars in 18 years or so.

JerryHughesYourDaddy

that made no sense, however, I do not know anything of the sort from experience.

Pardon me if I'm misunderstanding, but, *the photographer* has determined that your child is supposed to be able to stand at 9 months by holding on to something? Will he not take the picture if the child can't stand? You have to "work on" getting the child able to stand for a picture? I guess I just don't get it.
redcrayon
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I agree with rc! Don't you want the 9 month pics to reflect what your kid is actually doing at 9 months? So if your kid doesn't meet the photographer's made-up milestones then he doesn't take the pictures? Crazy.
