Things I can confirm:
Chandler @ Specialties is great.
Doglover has horrible grammar and for the sake of the internets, should always be limited to less than 5 posts.
The only thing better than Buck's double pepperoni & cheese is their service.

At first I wasn't sure whether to even initiate this thread, but I'm glad that I did and that I could be a little part of history here on TexAgs. :-) Learning more than I bargained for about my neighbors was just an added little benefit along the way too, of course. Bottom line though, Mark Sykes still sucks. Period.

I am a photographer, so this thread really amused me. I looked through all the wedding pics that NOAC posted and there is nothing remarkable about them. I'm sure the bride paid 2-3 grand for that.

It is obvious that he made no effort to move at all to get good shots during the ceremony. Just sit in the balcony and shoot straight. That screams lazy to me.

Since he did that, he had to do obvious reshoots of the bride walking down the aisle with her daddy. No one sitting in the pews.

So the Texas School of Pro Photo does a few days long seminar with a number of different classes. Degrees from there? More like certificate of completion. Their children and wedding portrait classes are rated for beginner photographers. I hate when people make claims like that. It isnt like he took classes at the Brooks Institute.

Not so much an honor. Pay $100, take a test than any good photographer should pass and let them review your photos. Certificate and more importantly, you get to be in their searchable database for photographers.
You have to renew it every 5 years, so no word on it being still active, although he does come up in a search, as does Darrin Hill and Art Wright.

As the wife of a B-CS photographer whose name has not yet been mentioned on this thread, I can attest that the Texas School of Professional Photography is a week-long seminar (here at Texas A&M, in fact) that does not grant degrees or official certifications of any kind.

You can learn all of that stuff online for free like I did. No certificates needed and nothing to brag about in the photography world.

They used to always have it in the Reed McDonald building. I had to do some work for it when I worked for the Dept of Journalism. Nude modeling and what have you.
