What?!?! Harvey Mitchell runs to Bryan?!? (CS residents)

Where I come from it's still called 2818.

West By-pass.

My granny used to call it that.

I guess I'm pretty old timey", because it was FM 2818, and you couldn't get there on Villa Maria ,because Villa Maria ended at the rr trax at Wellborn Rd. You could cross the trax to get on to Finfeather Rd., stop in at the 7-Eleven for a Slurpee, and head north or south from there.

My only question is what are they going to do with other structure on property that looks a kindling for another fire?

Noticed that Sweet Eugene's bought the building at 100 W. Brookside Dr, Bryan (on South College) last year. Future second location or relocation in the future?

They need to buy the lot next to the St. Joseph health building on Barron and Victoria by CSHS.

Gold mine location for a coffee shop.

I'm curious too. I've been scavenging wood from construction projects (with permission!) for home projects since the price of lumber tends to rise during trade wars. Maybe I'll ask the Chicken folks.

Fuego employee told me this morning that they are "going corporate" and have been bought out, and to expect expansion into other locations in the future.

I told them to go the Carrabba's route and let corporate franchise into wherever, but leave the original alone to be what it wants to be.

Don't know if that will happen.

That was the case with the local Layne's shops, until the founder sold them back to the corporation.

I'd feel a lot better about these corporate locations if it stayed in College Station. DoubleDave's is based in Austin, Grub was based in Austin before it merged, nu-Layne's is Dallas-based if I recall.

I've wondered about Fuego and expanding. They reached a peak of four locations about ten years ago (two Waco, San Marcos) and then just stopped.

Just wanted to give a shoutout to Voodoo Brewery on Northgate. Friendly staff and enjoyed their food and drinks. They were not very busy at all and I worry that the location and construction will make it difficult for them. Go check them out sometime!

We took our goddaughter there for dinner one night and I agree. Granted, it was a weeknight but there were only a couple of other patrons in there and we had to take a risk on our parking (we parked in the cleared lot across the street and sat by the windows so we could see if we were going to be ticketed/towed.) But the food and drinks were very good.

Dang that is a pretty high price point for bar food. Hope it is excellent and does well but $17-18 bucks for a burger or chicken sandwich is steep. Not to mention $17 for 6 wings.

And nearly $10 for single pancake ("the size of any small country").

Oh, it's at Century Square. No wonder it's so high. That's all financed by Mom and Dad's credit card.

Century Square parking and overpriced… that's a recipe for another restaurant opening in that location in a year or so.

$17 + 8.25% tax + 20% tip gets you to $21.80 for 6 wings. Add to that the parking and it gets expensive.

Went to Anchor Bar last week and the buger is very, very good. Burger + fries was $14.95.

A lot of our "locally owned" bars and restaurants and/or the properties are owned by persons in Austin, Waco, Houston and the DFW area.

Looked at their menu… wow
I don't see that place making it more than 2 years.
You're already in an area locals don't want to go because they charge for parking and with those prices.. lol good luck

We will at least give them a try and see what it is like. Everyone complains about not having any higher end options, yet looking at the menu this looks like an attempt at just that. Ironically Whataburger and koppe bridge don't suggest pairing your B.o.B with a Bloody Mary, yet they will gladly take $13+ for something much simpler. Not sure if folks realize Chick-fil-A breakfast meals are now like $8-9. We won't make it a weekly stop at those prices, unless it is really good and we cut back somewhere else.
