It was my understanding that he had to sign today. I am surprised he didn't schedule a big press conference to sign the JETI.

He just has to make his decision today. He has 7 days to transmit written notice of his decision.
Relax, Gov Abbott is not going to kill this deal.
I am not worried either way. SpaceX would be in a bind if they want to move. Arizona doesn't have the water and permitting would cause a significant delay.
It would have been great if someone called their bluff during a public hearing.
The school districts seem to be getting a good deal. I think the county fell to the pressure and left a lot on the table.
For me either way works. It would be good to see real economic development in the BRV. But if SpaceX leaves then people get another 5-10 years of quiet rural living.

Is 3 yrs the target to complete Phase-1? If so, you'd think engineering has already started with geotec being needed first. Samsung's foundation in Taylor was absolutely massive - they needed 5 on-site batch plants.
The Evapco announcement in Navasota likely constitutes the first known "supplier wave" firm to locate near Terafab.
They're a Tier 1 supplier of cooling towers and components for the exact kind of compute infrastructure cluster that's forming in Grimes County.
This is precisely the "supplier wave" pattern we've been discussing, and there will be more.

Each individual firm has to make the case on the merits to earn an incentive under law. Each chapter 380 agreement must pass muster with the state.

In an ideal world, they would figure out how to connect that with highway 30…. Just getting the Houston area traffic to Navasota doesn't really help it get to Terrafab, IMHO.

Today is the last day for the governor to deliver his signature on the JETI agreements.
I found it interesting that during Abbott's interview with Musk on Hannity the Terrafab project was not mentioned. I would think that such a large investment in the state would have at least been mentioned during the interview.

That 10-11 mile stretch of 2 lane cost $280M, definitely something that would need to be budgeted in future plans. Agreed though I wish they would do it.

Terrafab is interesting. Design, manufacture, testing all in one place, rather than design in US, manufacture in Taiwan, testing and packaging elsewhere.
One thing I haven't seen people talk about is SpaceX wanting to do data centers in space. If that is the goal, the chips are going to need to be radiation hardened. Obviously, plenty of capability to radiation harden chips as SpaceX is launching plenty of starlink satellites, but the cutting edge AI chips from AMD designed for the increased radiation exposure in space.

In the original SpaceX plan, half of Terrafab will produce chips for Tesla and other earth based use, and another line will produce hardened chips for use in space.
I was hoping that Terafab or someone else stateside would manufacture the lithography machines but alas, read somewhere that AMSL would still get that piece of the pie.

Fo you live in Arizona? We're the only state with a 100 year water plan which is why so many of these projects are being built here.
