There is no excuse for a health care professional that wants the vaccine or is required to get the vaccine to not have gotten at least one dose. As the first group (1a), they have been eligible since before Christmas. At this point, for whatever reason, they have chosen to not be vaccinated. Their choice.

I thought it was strange and didn't pursue it further. But there have been stories about health care workers saying they won't get vaccinated, and this is regarding people who had not already been infected.

If this person were serious I'd be concerned as this is a major health care unit in BCS. But I also understand not wanting to come out and admit being anti-vaxx for fear of shaming, or freaking out a patient.

Had to go to an Urgent Care Tuesday and asked the nurse attending to me how the staff vaccinations are going.

Her reply "Oh most of us aren't vaccinated. We just can't seem to get the shots!"

Hmmm...

As a nurse who didn't get the shot, I would just say so and not make up a dumb excuse.

If anyone still wants/needs a vaccine - there is a drive thru clinic at the Moore-Connally Building (behind the Hilton) today & tomorrow. They have Phizer & Johnson and Johnson shots

Also from the article:
Quote:

While the overall effectiveness data may suggest the J&J candidate isn't quite as strong as the two-dose Pfizer and Moderna options, all of the world's COVID-19 vaccines have been tested differently, making comparisons nearly impossible, CNBC reported.

Since vaccine supply is no longer a factor, I have stopped following allocations.

If the website I was following was correct, there hasn't been allocations of J&J since April. And from what I have read, when locations that have a supply run out, there won't be any more (at least not in the near future).

Also reading that many sites with the vaccine may not use them before their expiration in August.
