Sorry, but I'm clueless on testing.

They've posted data in 3 different formats. A bar chart of daily reporting of "new" cases (students vs staff), a graph of "active" cases (10 day trailing sum of "new" cases), and a table with weekly summary of "new" cases along with "test" counts.

All three formats had the same "new" case counts. They stopped updating the table, which had the "test" information, but continue to publish the the bar chart and graph (new case basis). I look at it weekly and just decided to continue with the case counts and created my own "weekly" count.

I haven't found any sources for testing data. Disappointed it's not reported any more, but maybe that's a good sign for the progression, as Mike Tyson said it will, "fade to bolivian".

Really curious if data on "long Covid" cases are being kept by local health care networks. I asked my doctor about this (Physician's Center) and he just said "Yeah we're treating quite a few."

As a stats obsessed person would love to know among the local "recovered" what the duration of post-Covid symptoms looks like. I assume inquiring at hospitals and such would violate some sort of HIPAA thingie.

Those of y'all that listen to the scanners, does this seem like a facility cluster?
To give an update to this question, there is 1 facility with an extremely large number of cases. It is one of the locations which got hammered hard in late 2020, probably the worst of all that did. When there were 6 ambulances at the location at once (Bryan, CS, and St. Joseph), it was obviously very bad. (The last sentence is in reference to 2020, not now.)

Anyway, been hearing an pretty good uptick in nursing home calls lately with all the usual buzzwords, especially "Use PPE/Use Universal Precautions." I'm pretty sure there is at least two others with some cases, and I think there might be a couple more, but I need more info before I can say with certainty for any of them. However, based on experience, I would bet they probably do. As the virus' stability continues to collapse and it mutates faster and faster, it is going to continue to become more transmissible (like viruses do), but less deadly to all but those who are vulnerable to pretty much all opportunist diseases. We're not going to stop it, nor keep it out of places. We have to learn to live with it and not by destroying normalcy in the name of "safety."

I've noticed a run on home Covid tests again...the FlowFlex were cleaned out almost cleaned out at Target, and several pharmacies have told me they've run out.

Also not clear if TAMU is distributing tests anymore...their website now says "send us an email if you request them." Out of curiosity I did on Monday. As of today have not heard back.

To update my previous post, the facility I mentioned that has a large number of cases got slammed today. Numerous EMS runs there, all for patients in very bad condition.

Now, this isn't a retirement community. It is nursing home for people with a serious health problem and given what happened once before, it is no surprise that it decided to run amok there again. If this was a camp with a bunch of kids, they'd have the sniffles and be fine in a few days, but for people who are already in extremely poor health and elderly, it is still dangerous no matter how many shots they get, masks people wear around them, etc. etc. etc.

Just changed the layout to make it easier to update. I suck at predicting the future. I thought this stuff would quit being reported a year ago. I'm a numbers person, so I keep it in perspective.

Yeah and given where most of them are likely coming from, good outcomes aren't likely

I'd bet 1,000 gold coins all of them are from the same facility.

At least EMS runs to it have dropped off. Only heard 1 in the past 3 days.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill
