Taco- I think your and CE's (not that you are them or representing them but you do know them- yeah right) definition of truth is somewhere along the lines of Bill Clinton's definition of "is".

the thing is, he IS representing them whether he is officially or not.

The bottom line is that Cafe Eccell is protecting itself, and rightfully so, against fraud. They were misled for a year, both verbally and in writing. When fraud is committed, it is a game changer.

Taco- where did you get your law degree from? Your understanding of contract law seems limited to what the Dallis brothers have told you to write. Remember, they are the ones who hired a criminal defense attorney to represent them in the negotiattions. Not a smart move for such "respected businessmen".

The Dallis family should know all about fraud.

Their lead counsel is this guy www.buckkeenan.com/bio-mano-deayala.html. My understanding from what I've read is that Craig Greening is simply the local rep for the case.

At least Asset Plus will save money on demolition when the building 'mysteriously' erupts into flames for insurance purposes.

toughtaco- what do you think is the motive behind Asset Plus not acting in good faith?

It seems to me that CE relocating to the new Asset Plus building would be mutually beneficial for all parties. I can't think of any way that Asset Plus is benefitting from running CE off. All I can see is CE making an unreasonable parking demand that is costing both businesses an opportunity.

I'm sure you see it differently though, so can you point out how this is beneficial to Asset Plus or what their motive might be?

The long posts by toughtaco addressing my replies to him, where he/she made statements regarding this situation as a close friend of the Dallis' (according to them). The very posts that I thanked them for their time in, even if I disagree with most of it...

I think it would've worked out for everybody had Café Eccell could've done a number of other options:
- Shut down Duke's and convert it to the new location of Café Eccell after restoring the facade. The lunch parking on Northgate is free now, and it would literally be across the street.
- Take the old Tony Roma's building. Dedicated parking, decent-looking building set for restaurant use...

But since the Eccell Group has gone from a respected restaurant chain to a group of dishonest squatters, I could imagine a scenario in which Boyett cancels all the leases on Northgate after the Eccell squatting fiasco, and Duke's, The Backyard, and La Bodega close up and get new -better- tenants. Duke's could restore the Art Deco facade, The Backyard could become something new, and La Bodega could become a Torchy's Tacos. Well, I can dream, right?

Boyett with the nuclear option?

Eccell owns the property la bodega is on, as well as the apartment building there on the corner (that's where the eccell group office is).

OK, in reality maybe not see Eccell Group be banished from NG entirely. But I would like to see Torchy's Tacos here, and would like to see the Art Deco on the old Campus Theater restored.

A third option could have them convert The Backyard into Café Eccell, and do a land swap with the Citgo next door to get that plot of unused land as additional parking. It gives them exclusive parking that way.

Cafe Eccell had a good run. A lot of people enjoyed it over the years.

Back in the days of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", we nearly burned down the Campus Theatre twice!

NahÉ FlyRod, Cafe Eccell is too important to too many Aggies and people in BCS. It may be over for you, but it is still enjoyed by many of us and many of TAMU faculty. The food is good. Any restaurant can always be betterÉbut I believe the new Cafe Eccell will be even better. Stop with the haterade.
