They're actually very useful. Has a cup holder and can hold a box of shells on top.

I guess I have enough gear that I don't really need it.

Have a chair with a cup holder, belt for shells, etc. but I suppose if you're just wanting to roll with a gun and one of these, or also a bucket, then you're g2g

I admittedly have way too much gear for dove hunting.

Some for days where your just sitting within 20' of your truck, others for when you'll be hoofing it and moving around (mojo backpack, small flip chair, gun strap, etc)

I shot 11 that night near New Sweden and listened to our football team lose to LSU. I am so glad I chose dove hunting! Of course, I always choose hunting and fishing over anything else standing up. Life is too short to not fish or hunt as much as possible. Oddly, I had 1 bird and only 1 shot from 430 to 645pm. Then by 720, I had 11. They were swarming like the LSU defense, evidently. At one point I had 3 birds on the ground as a double and then a single came over and no dog to help, so I passed on 8 or 10 easy ahots while I retrieved them. I could have easily limited with John Wayne's help!

Tonight we had a great evening hunt near Briggs and I had 15. They flew really well from 5 to 6pm. I am hoping these cooler fronts bring some more big northern birds. I am way up over last year's total already and well into triple digits. I think the higher than avg predicted harvest numbers by TPWD were right on the money. How about you?

Oh, if you are over 40, get ya one of those directors type camo chairs at Academy. That comfy thing is some of the best money I have ever spent. So many years of sitting on a bucket and no back rest. I am too old for discomfort now. We actually call them the old man chairs, in my friend group. I can't imagine a hunt now without one. That and the mojos are golden!

Yep. That is the one. I am sure the turtle box would stick to the leg also. That chair has become impossible for me to do without. After a long walk to pick up a bird, it's so nice to rest your gun on the armrests and lean back with a cool drink. Hopefully a minute later, you are back to banging away at the doves.

It's a cool addition to the stand. I listen to the game broadcast and it's great.

Hunted Brownwood for annual family boys hunt over the weekend. Plenty enough birds to have got limits but came up a little short on Friday - 23 birds total.

Our guide (Benny Rice) always puts us on birds but this year they werent as thick as usual which was surprising.

This years hunt was the first losing Aggie footbal weekend since we started hunting with Benny so that was the only downside to the trip

yep I hunt and fish first which means I have reverted to radio when necessary to follow the game.

Four inches of rain in Alice and now we don't have access to the main two pastures which sucks. We will see what the next two days bring.

We did get in the pool at 1:30 this morning and hunted frogs. I bet a saved 70 frogs from a slow death. It was almost like they figured me out and started swimming towards me. Id grab them and chunk them about 30 feet into the grass so they could live another day. That was fun.

The rain was amazing. After enduring the summer we had being 500 yards from camp when the heavens opened was a dream. Other than my shotgun getting soaked but I cleaned it up immediately.

Forgot to mention the other group we were with shot five javelinas. Two Thursday during the storm and three more in the drizzle the next morning. We could have shot two but didn't have any buckshot or better a rifle. Those pigs were having more fun in the mud than we were and almost acted like we weren't there. Never seen anything like it.

Hunting in Alice the next four days. Spoke with our outfitter and they are loaded with birds. Hoping to report back with photos of limits.

If you go into town to it go to Texas Brick Oven. You will not be disappointed

Early on yes. I tweaked a few things, gun mounting, etc.

Now its just to record hunts and I can look at it after and see, damn I was shooting bad and I should not have setup that way, etc.

4 man limit of Mourning Dove and a bonus ring neck tonight in Western Runnels County.

Went 16 for 25 tonight, shot like **** tonight at the beginning and then tightened up later in the evening.
