How does the guarantee vs overage pay work?

I remember from past posts you're a regional guy, if you don't mind me asking is that somewhere you're comfortable with staying or waiting to upgrade to a mainline carrier?

Guarantee is what the company has to pay you every month. Since we are paid hourly (when the door is closed), our guarantee is 75 hours. Over guarantee is when you fly more than that, or credit more based on contractual requirements.

Regionals are considered near entry level jobs, and most will move on. The people who stay are either stuck (can't get hired), or have some sort of obligation or side job that keeps them there.

Getting hired to a major carrier is not an easy task. Less than 1000 pilots per year per airline are hired. There are several companies who make good money helping pilots brush up resumes and interview skills.

Seriously, there are some positives about the area, and you can always go to Meers Store to pig out and forget your troubles.

I'll try to hook you up with the old guys who hang around the Amarillo airport and take pictures. Maybe they can catch you shooting approaches at AMA. They publish them on a Facebook group.

I'll also make sure you have my contact info. Come see Palo Duro Canyon sometime, and I'll be glad to give you a tour.

CB, Congrats on the C-17! You're going to love it, once you figure out how it flies. It's not quite like any other plane out there.

Altus isn't that terrible. It's small, but it's got a Whataburger.

We should grab a beer when you get to town, assuming it's before the end of May.

Based on everyone else here, I'm looking at getting to Altus end of March or so. Definitely need to grab a beer when I get in.

Altus might be small, but everything is a good change of pace after almost two years in Columbus.

Well, she had her flying and her horses. Hubby had great hunting and started an ammunition company, partnering with one of the aircraft maintainers and and another veteran. Then hubby spent one tour at MSU as AFROTC instructor, and he loved Miss State

Flew some simulated air refueling this morning grabbed lunch at KLIT and then sat jump for some simulated form air drop this afternoon
