They were giving it a 90% chance of making a tropical storm in the next 48 hours this morning...now that's down to "basically 0%".

Now predicted to go CAT 2 in the next couple of days. Models can't agree whether it swings north or gets pushed south.

Are we still talking about Bender's ex's or are we back to the storm?

Wettest June on record in Austin followed by the driest July on record with predictions of massive El Nino rains this fall.

Crazy weather year.
It's flood or drought. No in between this year.

The pushiness sounds right, but not the swinging part....must be talking about the storm.

We were supposed to get about an inch yesterday in NE Kansas and I happen to live in the area that got more "locally heavy" rainfall of 2.25". Really nice moisture at a good time for my food plots and the surrounding ag fields.

...then a nice bit of cool weather followed that front. Down into the low to mid-50s for my morning coffee on the porch.

We picked up almost 3" in Charleston yesterday and it's raining again today. It feels nasty and tropical outdoors.

Here in Murphy, TX we got a heavy downpour for 15-20 minutes yesterday around 10am followed by an hour of steady rain. Later in the day we had another 15-20 minutes of steady rain. And again around 10pm last night we had an hour or so of rain. And it was 65 this morning when we woke up! Feels wonderful outside. My rain gauge on my weather station shows no rain registered. I went and checked it, thinking the batteries were down and my kids have filled it with dirt. Ahhhh, the joys of parenthood.

It survived the SAL, lets see how it handles the shear the next few days. El Ninos tend to put a lid on the GOM. Our best chance was early in the season for a home grown storm in the Gulf.

Danny didn't do well against the wind shear, but meet Erica.

That track looks like it'll head of the east coast. Would be nice to get some rain out of it though.

If you meant off the east coast I'm inclined to agree. To me that one looks like it would stay out in the ocean and maybe graze the outer banks, but there's still a long time for the tracks to change.

Linda needs to track due north to soak the piss out of CA.

Of course, they will go from dry with no water and a state of emergency to soaking wet with mudslides and a state of emergency. And somehow it will be the fault of republicans, but it'd be good for them.

Houston, Austin, Dallas, Ft. Worth.....

Other than Aggieland, there are a lot of places I would not miss were a line 15 miles west of I-35 become the new Gulf Coast.

To be fair, San Diego is really only less liberal than the other major metro centers. And north Cali still manages to elect Pelosi, so they do have a black eye as well.

Backside Baja or homegrown GOM is about our only chance in a strong El Nino.
