Just curious what everyone is up to these days...

I just finished the main storyline to Ghost of Tsushima on the SteamDeck. I'm a little bored with it to keep going with the DLC. Thinking of getting Far Cry 5 for the Steam Deck (currently on sale). However I worry all the repetitive missions might bore me as well. Any recommendations?

I want to get into Space Marines 2 but I think replayability is a concern so I may wait for the price to drop first. Looks fantastic though. Anyone have thoughts about co-op with friends aspect of the game?

I had just finished 2 full playthroughs of Elden Ring, back to back, then beat the DLC. After that... I wanted more Elden Ring, so I installed the Randomizer mod to make it interesting and new.

I then started thinking about Tears of the Kingdom, because I got through about 50% last year before dropping it and playing something else. It never hooked me the way Breath of the Wild did, but others seem to love it, so I decided I would give it another chance. I've gotten about 20% of the way through this second attempt, and i'm not really feeling that strong urge to play it every night. We'll see if I continue on.

This weekend, I started thinking about Baldur's Gate 3, and just like TotK, it was one I ended up putting down last year, but so many absolutely love the game. Decided to give it another attempt and put about 9 hours into it this weekend. It's still just "meh", for me. I absolutely think the game screws with the rolls because enemies seemingly always hit me in every fight and I can never hit them. I remember this pissing me off the last time I played, and it's happening again. My character seems so ****ty because I NEVER can hit the enemies. Whether my chance is 55% or 85%, I seem to miss at least 50% of the time. This game gives me PTSD of the beginning of Morrowind... but it doesn't stop. "miss, miss, miss, miss, hit for 4 damage..."

Last week, I also started playing Core Keeper, based on some things I saw about it. It's been fun getting started and allows me to watch a show or podcast while playing. These types of games are usually fun for me for about 12-15 hrs of gameplay before I move on to something else.

Anyways... those are the 4 games I've booted up and played in the last 2 weeks.

Specifically to this point, I enjoyed Far Cry 5 for 15-20 hours, but then the missions started getting to me. This is probably more to do with that whole Ubisoft open world having a million points of interest, and my OCD in having to find everything just overwhelming me to the point I quit because it drives me crazy.

The gameplay was fun up to that point. I wouldn't pay full price for it, but may be worth it if you get it during a steam sale.

Two games rotating on the steam deck:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1147860/UFO_50/

Essentially these guys made 50 NES games but with some modern design/mechanics mixed in. I've only played three of the games so far but dangit this is brilliant. The whole thing is based around this meta narrative that someone opened a storage container and found a defunct 80s developers stash and released it.

We dont have a switch but the kids like Smash Brawl. Went and played Nickelodeon All Star Brawl 2 on Gamepass and they love it. Went and downloaded it in the Deck and play in docked mode. Solid and maybe even really really good smash clone. Just playing on the couch with the kids so no idea what online is like.

I recently started playing this one but I've put it down for now. I know what the style of CRPGs is but BG3 feels extra slow? In a play session, sometimes I feel like I get nothing done. I don't like the NPC companions and the interface (playing on xbox) is trash. I'm constantly fighting the camera and trying to get a decent view.

I've played enough that the characters are feeling more powerful at least.

I thought buying this game was a sure thing and up my alley but I'm finding the exact opposite. I have no idea how the reviews are all so good. I get that this is right up some people's alley but a metacritic score of 99 on xbox? No way...

I'm actually playing Doom 2016 for the first time. Just about finished with it.

Also halfway through my 2nd play through of Cyberpunk. I'm enjoying it MUCH more this go round and the latest updates really made the game better.

I'm also playing through Castlevania SOTN via PS1 emulation on my Steamdeck. Such a great game.

Come October I will be doing my usual and playing through some scary games. I think I might play through Resident Evil Village again... it has a great Halloween vibe and it was just a really fantastic game!

I need to pick this back up. I played through the first GOW about a year ago and went straight into Ragnarok after that. I got about halfway through before i got burned out.

I've been playing several games recently where burnout is an issue. Feel like a lot of games are getting to be so damn long

I feel this way a lot, also. Some games get to feel like a job. I have a hard time finding games that are fun as well as story rich/compelling.

Frostpunk 2. Very different gameplay than the first but still same atmosphere and feel of the first game. I have been really enjoying it so far.

I just finished Link's Awakening this weekend on Switch, lots of fun. I really appreciated the look and old-school game play, these days when I'm stressed out it's kind of the best type of video game to play, zero stress or intensity, just a laid back experience. Now I'm thinking about playing Skyward Sword or wait a few days for Echoes of Wisdom to drop.

I really wish Nintendo would just remaster all the classic Zelda games. Maybe on the Switch 2 we'll get something like Wind Waker, which I'd be so happy to get.

WoW Season of Discovery
Persona 5 Royal

And after I finish P5 (which I didn't think I'd like but do and it's soundtrack is amazing) I'm catching up on Legend of Heroes. That's the best RPG series of all time. They're remaking the original so I might recommend waiting for that but awesome game series and I'm a couple of titles behind.

I'm playing a survival base building game called Survival: Fountain of Youth and I'm having a great time with it. I had never heard of this game, but saw it on sale so I gave it a try. I'm now 30 hours in. You get these big islands in the carribean to explore, gather resources and follow in the footsteps of Ponce de Leon to find the fountain of youth.

I would play this again if they would simply give us a performance mode on the current consoles. But that's not how Rockstar rolls... they don't give anything away for free. I'm really surprised they haven't released a Series X/PS5 version yet.

Sins of a Solar Empire 2

Picked up Elder Scrolls Online again for my quick 20 min hit it and quit it gaming moods. Sins is great to for my off and on play style these days. My matches last for 10+ hours and easy to drop in and out via save.

My gaming ADHD is at an all time high it feels like while my gaming interest overall is also at an all time high. I want to play everything and will spend hours hours researching until I sit down to play something and then I don't want to anymore. Makes zero sense and is incredibly frustrating.

They did release a free 4k upgrade of the original game for the Xbox One X.

I just wish Sadie Adler had been the protagonist of that game.

Playing as someone who is evolving from victim to ultimate badass driven by a very personal revenge would have been a much more compelling experience. You could have still kept the gang dynamics swirling around her, but playing as a new member of the gang, you could have played much more with her uncertainty of who to trust. Perhaps even allowing the player to more dynamically tip the scales one way or another as the team sought to identify its rat.
Thanks and gig'em

How was Ghost of Tsushima on the SteamDeck? I started playing the game on the PC, but it isn't my primary game.

My primary game is Escape from Tarkov (PvE). On SteamDeck I am playing Balatro.

Holy hell are you me? Always looking but never start anything new. Just end up playing some old comfort or closing the computer.

Massive gaming ADHD right now.
