I might be getting too old and can't keep up but I took some time off from the CoD series and when I came back, I had no idea why there were different games that they were cross promoting. I saw ColdWar, Vanguard, Warzone and then a Warzone Last Stand. I didn't know what was what but just wanted to pick up the latest multiplayer and a battle royale type CoD since my son enjoys the battle royale type game play. We picked up Vanguard but it installed WarZone too. Then it installed WarZone Last Stand. Still not sure what the difference is.

I went ahead and grabbed ColdWar and we've been playing that for the last week or two. It isn't as good as the original MW but we are still having fun. Can someone explain the differences in the games I mentioned above? Is it just by different game shops (Activision, Treyarch, etc.)?

I tried googling Last Stand but it kept pulling up articles related to the Last Stand perk in one of the games versus the game (or season) itself.

Last stand is just the season theme for Warzone since it's the last season before MW2 releases.

And warzone is the Battle Royale mode. It is standalone because it is free to play, while the multi-player for each of the games you mentioned (MW, Cold War, Vanguard, etc.) isn't. If you don't want it installed, you canodify the install and only select the aspects of the game you want.

Yes. You can download and play only Warzone 2. I did this for Warzone and good luck! leveling guns. It takes FOREVERRRRR.

But jump in and play few/several games with the kid...perfect!

Playstation early access beta starts this Friday!

The new weapon mod system looks good. It seems more realistic. Once you unlock attachments for the M4 for example, you keep them for all M4 variants (M16, etc.), to include if you put a shorter barrel on it to make it an SMG. In fact, to unlock the other weapon variants, you have to unlock their specific receiver.

This better be the last time a specific console gets first access to the beta before everyone else.

The new gunsmith looks awesome and looks like it'll make the camo grind not so bad

That's unfortunate. On a different note, it's awesome seeing an FOV slider for consoles finally.

Of course, we don't know what we don't know until HossAg weighs in. They have been playing COD since they were 14 and have 9 years of COD game playing.

Looks like the showcase is 11:30 today so we'll see. I'm ready to uninstall Modern Warfare from my pc and get going on MW2

Definitely more Blackout. No slide cancelling. Movement a little slower. Seems clunkier, but I think wz moved too fast.

The movement changes are probably what I a looking forward to the most. Tired of sweats sliding on me while I am just trying to enjoy a game of WZ as an average to below average player.

So far, no slide cancel if you try then it goes to dolphin dive. Lots LOTS of recoil in weapons and LMG shoot marshmallows supposedly.

Slide cancel and dolphin dive are same button. Slide cancel nerfed but still effective to get behind cover.

The recoil looks like a massive change from the Vanguard guns that have absolutely no recoil on WZ.

Good beta start. I got capped at Level 15 so couldn't get to SCAR or sniper rifle. Much improved over MW2019 and Cold War.

I gotta wait until Thursday for open beta, but the game looks bright and vibrant which is a complete 180 from vanguard.

No slide cancel is great. That wasn't a skill gap, it was just a broken mechanic that broke cameras. Bunny hopping is way less annoying.

Love that they added more colors to the maps and the maps seem to be less cluttered and more traditional 3 lane layouts. Feels like seeing a treyarch map at times, which is always a good thing.

Also really like the looting changes to warzone. Loadout drops are stupid and shouldn't be in a BR.

Negatives for me are the TTK is way too fast, footsteps are too loud and no dead silence perk is stupid, no red dots on the mini map is still a terrible design decision 3 years later, and squads spawns are still garbage.

Overall it looks like it has the potential to be a really fun game compared to MW and vanguard, especially with stuff like proximity chat.

For the beta, I think you can only unlock one weapon. I did the 1st DMR 'Battle Rifle' and can't use anything else that is new. So, if you want to use sniper then only unlock the sniper (last selection to the right).

Having actual audiophile headphones instead of garbage "gamer" headsets always feels like having wall hacks with how loud the footsteps are in these games. Hoping they have SnD in the rotation for the open beta. Game looks like a lot of fun overall

Lol, It's insane how loud the footsteps are in this game with no option for dead silence. At least vanguard had pretty quiet steps by default.

As a field upgrade. Not a perk. Either way, I'm curious to see the complete list of maps. Saw terminal during COD next which is one of my favorite maps of all time

i really hope mw2 is seperate from warzone. i bought mw and tried to play it but kept having to download warzone. what happened to just wanting to play the campaign

This is my big worry. I'm sick of wanting to hop on for a few quick multiplayer matches, but have to wait for a download because of a stupid warzone update. Not to mention every warzone update breaks something in multiplayer.

Watching beta gameplay and sbmm looks even worse in this game. Cancelled pre order and Gonna wait for it to go on sale for $40 by Black Friday if it gets any better. Not wasting $75 to sweat my ass off every game

I don't understand why COD had to go the battle royale route, it's old. Go back to the basics

I'm just a slightly above average player, but when I constantly have teammates who go 2-8 while I'm busting my ass to just go positive that **** gets old. Not to mention how many games I spawn into that are already in progress and my team is down 0-2 or 0-3. There's zero fun in that whatsoever.

Don't get me started on warzone, that game is a joke and is all Activision cares about anymore and they pretty much spit on the multiplayer player base
