Yea I'm not looking forward to that. Right now I'm trying to hunt down an Apex Dreadwing so I can buy an outfit. Fireclaws are already tough on their own.

Wait until you need the webbing (belly) of an Apex Fireclaw for crafting elite weapons. Can only shoot at legs or head. Takes forever! Especially when the fireclaw does the whole top rope WWE splash at you!

Advanced ice arrows, 3 stack to get into ice state then i switch into my sharpshot bow stacked fully with impact damage coils with 1 charge up and 1 reload coil too. Double arrow shots and i regularly do 1k+ to crit spots like their sparkers. Best way i have found. I also use non-elemental impact dmg spears to the back legs sometimes but its more risky to have that belly hitbox somehow get hit from throwing a spear into its ass end.

I just spent a ton of money on a new gaming PC, not going to buy a Playstation.

Well that's one way to do it...

I've played through almost the entire game with just using bow/arrow weapons.

Wish I would have started using the gauntlet and spike throwers. Will have to build those up and do some hunting.

I cant get into the gauntlet, just seems so useless compared to arrows, bombs or spikes.

Yeah, it's a gimmicky weapon that I did not get much value from. Tripcasters are another I don't use much, but they can be highly effective. I prefer to strike hard from stealth and then Leeroy into fights. I ain't got time to be setting up traps.

I'm currently playing through Uncharted and Lost Ark, but may start Zero Dawn so that I can get to this one soon. It looks super fun.

Platinum trophy achieved! That stupid Machine Strike game was my last trophy to get. Now to wait the 6 months for DLC.

I think it's only beat two different strike challengers. Can be two beginning challengers...

The gauntlet is pretty great for applying status effects without using ammo if you can get the catch mechanic down. The legendary has acid and shock ammo for weakening and the third type is great at tearing components off with the charged blast

Finished the Gemini mission so I can override and fly on the Sunbird, awesome!

Finally platinumed this game at 82hr with all side missions done. Last 3 achievements were the strike game wins, racing wins and glide for 60s uninterrupted.

Dang, I know I'm not going to hit 100% on this thing, not sure where I'm currently at but I know I'm not going to finish the melee pits, the races, or machine strike. I might need to dial down the difficult in the arena since I'm fine when they let me use my weapons, but when they pick for me it's a different situation. Taking down a Slitherfang with mediocre weapons is something I can't do with a timer running.

Just put the finishing touches on a my new gaming PC build last week. Was lucky enough to score reasonably priced 3080 at the Dallas Microcenter and paired it with a 34" ultra widescreen and holy S is HZD a beautiful game. Only about 5 hours into the original but really enjoying it so far. I keep finding myself just looking around at the setting in awe.

Luckily you only have to win Strike and Race a couple times and not all of them.

Enjoy it, and when you're ready look up how to get the shield weaver armor online. No such armor to be found in Horizon Forbidden West. Don't forget to play the DLC, The Frozen Wilds, and then you get to battle some new machines, Frostclaws and Fireclaws, and they are tough.

On a side note I did find one of the God of War easter eggs when I was playing this weekend.

Yep, 2 wins for each, each win at a separate location. So strike, the lady in chainscrape is your first win then pick whoever you want. Races is the first outside you base somewhere towards the desert then the beach way to the west after winning that one. Use your melee hits to slow others and hit second time to knock them off mounts. Also when in the lead, listen for the arrow firing noise of a bowstring being loosed. Use your steady command at that point. Even if you get hit, spam your recover command and start swinging your melee at anything trying to pass. Won both on my first tries.

Big update with New Game+ and other stuff out today!

So I dropped into the second part of a certain side mission where there's a Thunderjaw prowling around.

Fight starts well enough, get his cannons off and as I'm moving to take them I get absolutely obliterated by a Tremortusk that was hidden back behind a hill

Suggested Level 28?? Right.
