Honestly those are weak rewards for a battle pass

Just a reminder that PC and Xbox players can get 1000 Coins for $5 by subbing one month to Origin Access or EA Access, respectively.

Not wildly excited about anything in the Battle Pass except for the Apex packs that are guaranteed to drop high-rarity items.

It will be interesting to see Octane enter the mix and the balance changes they make to existing characters.

I hadn't looked at the BP items yet... yeah, those are pretty lame. They better bring the goods whenever you unlock one of the loot ticks!!!!

I'm assuming those loot ticks just unlock things that are already in the Apex Pack loot table, although they may be introducing new items to that tomorrow as well.

I really enjoy when the final ring is right over one of those medium size buildings with only two doors and there are at least 3 teams still alive. Get inside, block the 2 doors, and watch the final teams try and figure out if they really want to rush you or worry about the other team(s) that are somewhere really close wondering the exact same thing. Many times they are too nervous about the other team(s) to worry about busting down your doors.

The smart ones blow off the doors with grenades, but they are still gonna have a hard time rushing through that bottleneck. It's not a guaranteed win strategy, but it's crazy fun and a heckuva lot better than being one of the teams outside.

It's even more fun when nobody is doing anything... have everybody on your team start shooting the walls... lol, that get's things going!

I couldn't help it. I'm so busy at work that Xbox is one of my very few 'me time' hobbies right now. So I got money to spare but less time to play... I needed the levels man! Plus I really like this game, happy to support it. So far I got some really great loot out of it. With the special loot tick at level 26 I got an epic and legendary item.



Side question... does it seem like the exp. needed to reach the next level is a little steep? I only played around 30 minutes last night, but it seems like it will take a while compared to the time it took for the recent Rocket League pass.

I only got the base one. I play enough and I'm thinking it's about an hour to get a level in the game. I'm nearly level 4 already.

I know I'm splintering the groups, but I have a good group of people that are always looking for people to play on my discord that aren't Aggies so I didn't invite them to the Texags discord.

Yeah, that's sorta what I was thinking... about and hour play per level gained. That's quite a bit of time to get to level 100. Hopefully the XP boosts will start to help with this and playing with a full party also gives boosts.

Does anybody know what the character XP bonuses are? I was getting Mirage bonuses towards my BP level last night (mirage is my main). Not sure what factors contribute to that bonus being more or less???

I only got the base as well. I just want to support the game, but I don't really care about getting to level 100 or not. The rewards are cool and all but they don't affect gameplay at all so it wasn't "must have" for me. I like how you get bonuses for playing with all the different characters each week.

It's definitely a fun game. It's the most multiplayer I have played in a LONG time.

It's first kill of the day gives you 500, and then it's time survived up to 25000 xp.

I've read that the Legend Bonus that applies to survival time resets weekly.

I'm kinda off-put about the BP because this is literally the only game I play (except with my kids, which occupies different parts of my day), and I only made 1.5 levels last night, which is more than an hour per level. I also had long matches (one win and at least three 2nd places, which are XP efficient since survival time is paramount).

I'm a bit concerned that I won't finish the thing despite giving all my gaming time to it, which seems like a very poor design. I realize that there are some XP boosts still to come. I guess we'll see. I don't *need* the level 100 Havoc skin since I don't use that weapon, but as a completionist I'd like to have it. Heck, they may someday buff the Havoc into a first-choice gun.

Every 10 levels starting at 12 you'll get a 2.5% increase to xp gain and it stacks with friends. So it'll accelerate fast

I'm with you. With 3 kids, I rarely get time to play so I decided to help the game out!

I will say that I am liking Octane as the new legend. His jump pad has got me out of a lot of sticky situations.

Just watched a video of people using a Wraith portal and a jump pad from octane to ambush people. Pretty brilliant...I love it when you can use the legends together like that.

Rumor has it we will get a new legend before season 1 ends. I'd put my money on Wattson. Also I heard they are releasing a new sniper?

Man, I have been in such a slump lately. A couple times I've had streaks of getting at least one win five days in a row, but lately I haven't won a thing and I've felt like I couldn't seem to hit a shot.

This morning I was ready early (jeans at work today, huzzah!) and decided to play a round or two. In the first one we dropped Skull Town, did some damage, but got taken out. In the second round I played Bloodhound, basically because he's in the top left corner and I'm trying to spread my time around to be efficient with Battlepass leveling. We loaded in with just a two-man squad. As is my custom, since we didn't have a third, I pinged Skull Town, figuring it's better to have a bit of fun but probably wipe quickly since a two-man squad is at such a disadvantage.

The jumpmaster took a weird, slow route in, and I wasn't convinced we were even going to Skull Town at times. Finally we landed somewhere in the arm that goes closest to Thunderdome. We looted for several quiet minutes without seeing anyone, both getting blue armor. I got an R-301 and an EVA-8, a setup I'd generally be happy to use for an entire game. Finally as we were making our way out of town, my partner ran into another player and pretty quickly took him out. After that we had to run a very long way from the storm, over Market and through the cave to Bridges. There we stopped to heal up using his health drone.

About the time we were done healing, my teammate got attacked by another Lifeline. He traded shots with him and the attacker backed off around some terrain, so I chased the guy down and finished him. We healed up, grabbed a few things out of his box, and after a decent pause, were attacked by a Pathfinder. We put some damage on him and he jumped down and hid under the base of the metal staircase to heal up, so I jumped after him figuring I could finish him off. Unfortunately, while I did get some damage on him, I was the one who got knocked. My teammate then jumped down, got the elimination, and rezzed me.

We kept heading northeast, driven by the circle, and ended up at some buildings in Wetlands. Out of nowhere my teammate opened fire, but was quickly downed. I saw the Wraith that he had been shooting at and managed to take her out with R-301 hipfire. I looked around, trying to decide whether to rez, and spotted a Pathfinder moving in. I managed to take him out with the EVA, and that turned out to be the end of their squad. I rezzed my buddy, and we finally got some purple armor - in fact, I got a gold shield and helmet and ended up getting the achievement for that.

The ring's direction was sending us towards Relay - in fact, we had traveled in a straight line for the entire match. The new circle encompassed all of the buildings in that corner of the map, and not far from the hills we came through there was an unlooted care package. There were three squads left. We stood on the inside of the hill, indecisive, and I said "If we loot it, we'll be pretty exposed; I'm already feeling pretty exposed right here," not knowing whether my teammate could hear me. But he did, because he retreated back around the corner of the hill and plugged in a mic.

"What are you trying to do here, man?" he said. "I don't know, but the ring is going to force us towards Relay. Maybe play the outside, stay to the right," I replied. He set off towards the area on the Eastern hill that's surrounded by a chain-link fence. As we moved, we heard sniper shots. Maybe one of the other groups had gone for the care package? We climbed the fence and took cover inside the new area, and in a minute heard more sniper fire, from the building directly west of us. "Two squads!" my teammate said.

"They're going to have to come to us, look at the circle," I told him. Some shots hit us from the building they'd been in, and I took cover to pop some shield cells. "They're coming!" he exclaimed. I looked back up to where he was, but didn't anyone yet. I glanced the other direction, to check our flank, and sure enough another enemy had crossed over a different way and climbed up to the border of our area, ready to rain bullets down on us. I fired at him, but missed. We both peaked and popped for a few seconds, not hitting anything, but then he found his target and I again ducked to heal up.

By now my teammate had circled behind me, and things were starting to get chaotic. I activated Bloodhound's ult so I could spot the enemy squad more easily. As I tried to reacquire the one who'd shot me, I heard "Knocked one!" in my headset. Right after that I saw another, and unloaded a clip on him. As he ducked around a corner and I reloaded, I said "He's so low!" I started to push, but after a second or two the message "You are the Champion" popped up. Hell yeah!

So glad to be out of that slump! Crazy how we never fought a full three-man squad. With so many leavers these days, you'd think a full premade would have a big advantage just in knowing that they have a great chance of outnumbering other squads - although perhaps matchmaking puts premades against each other? I don't know.

Great story! I've been in a slump myself...Kyle was watching me and I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

Speaking of leaving early, though, I had my first crash in a couple weeks this afternoon.

Anybody else having serious server issues tonight or was that just me? Tried 3 games and the lag was so bad that I couldn't play and finally gave up.

One thing I have learned is that ADS in this game doesn;t mean a DAMN thing except I die faster due to immobility. I have had to train myself to hip fire in close quarters combat in Apex.

I have not had any issues with the servers, but I am on Xbox. Are you playing on PC?

Indeed. It's a hard habit to break for a guy who has played more Destiny than any other FPS in recent years.

Anndddd the servers are down.

The took them down because today's patch deleted a lot (everyone?) of people's progress and loot. They're working on it right now.

Respawn is now saying this issue is fixed.

Make sure you download the latest patch in a timely manner; not sure how big it is, but it's a bummer to try and start a game and learn I need to wait 15 minutes for a patch.

The patch is about a Gig. They've added functionality to where you can invite your last squad into a party if you weren't already in a premade party. Seems like a good idea.
