Insane. With four IR slots, it almost seems advantageous to draft an injured guy or two if you can to use the IR as a psuedo-bench.

Haha...Fair enough

I just think he fits that WR role better than Godwin.

I won't be touching either one at their current price.

4 IR spots is absurd. I'm pretty confident there have never been 40 fantasy-relevant players on the IR at the same time, ever. 1 RB and 2 TE?? Absolutely ridiculous rosters.

One of my leagues just announced they are limiting teams to 1 BN. Holy cow. Seems like it will be a different game. Anybody been down this road?

I think you meant one of the leagues you played in last year is doing this stupid format. Seriously what is the point.

Is it just me or are training camp injuries stacking up?

Just off the top of my head Love, Egbuka, Evans, Kamara all picking up injuries here recently.

Found out today they revised to 4 bench spots. Will be much better.

There have been a lot. There's also been a number of "injuries" that equate to "I don't wanna practice. See ya Week 1"

the old timers spin in their graves.

So I'm keeping Pickens with my 6th round pick. If I take a RB in Round 1, and Cee Dee Lamb is available for my 2nd pick would you shy away from having Lamb WR1 and Pickens WR2? Their bye is Week 14 so very late.

Yes pass on lamb. Id personally be surprised if you could get CD in round 2 assuming a PPR league with keepers. Depending on where you draft if towards the middle or end of round 2 I think you take Bowers. As an aside with Pickens in round 6, I think you could go yolo and double 1 with Bowers and Josh in rounds 2 and 3. You could then use 4 and 5 to get your rb2 and wr2. Then 7 and 8 go for a mason or bill.

Don't need Bowers with Loveland my other keeper in Round 10

Nico is a better choice. That way if Dak goes down you dont go down with him.

we haven't talked about Jeanty on this thread

he finished last season with 1,300 total yards. Caught 55 passes. Played in all 17 games.

anyone rating/drafting him ahead of Saquon, Jefferson, or Lamb?

What i dont like about Jeantry:
1. Chiefs, Chargers and Broncos are all great run defenses.
2. WRs are trash and no one to keep the safeties deep
3. Chance that Kirk Cousins / Mendoza arent good enough to keep the chains moving.

What I like:
1. Jeantry will have higher reception volume because the WRs are trash.
2. The offensive line should be improved.
3. I think he will play even in blow outs which means some garbage time upside.

As far as your original question, I think id take Jeantry over those 3. I think he has a legit chance to be a top 3 RB. Something about the Eagles just seems off to me, so id take him over Barkley. I dont want CD Lamb because I could see Pickens being equal or better so why pay a premium. Justin Jefferson im coming around to him being a sleeper but I know the vikings dont want to run a fast offense nor do I like all the options that are there. So I'd go Jeantry over all 3.

I actually think id take Jeantry over any WR except Chase and Puka (assuming punishment and injury concerns dont get worse). I think JJ could be just as good as St. Brown this year. I think JSN points regression will be real. Plus a worse offense, new OC and an off-season for teams to analyze.

thanks -- great info

the Raiders do have a tough schedule -- catch the Seahawks and Rams defenses too

fantasy playoffs look good though: Titans (16) and Cardinals (17)

sidenote...JSN has been slipping in my drafts -- sometimes behind ARSB and Taylor/Cook

My league runs three...I like it because you don't get double punished for having guys go down.

There may not be 40 fantasy-relevant guys on the IR at the same time, but you may have three or four fantasy relevant guys get injured on your team. I think it is lame when a team struggling with injuries has to cut off the hurt guys, expend FAAB on replacement-level waiver wire guys, and then other teams that have had fortunate injury luck are able to scoop up the hurt guys.

Draft strategy for a 10 team PPR league, 10th pick?

- Is the normal strategy at this spot for the first 4 rounds RB, RB, WR, WR? The RB tiers drop off pretty quickly compared the WR, so figure to get them while their hot.

- Wait till Round 6 for QB

Any other pointers drafting last? I can only remember one other time I've drafted last and it didn't go great.
texagbeliever

Maybe consider RB TE, WR WR.

Cook / Jeantry
Bowers
Olave / Ladd / Higgins
Garrett Wilson
Burrow
DJ Moore

Then I would aggressively reach for Dowdle, Mason and Bill Croskey. Also try to get Allgier.

In 10 team I feel like positional difference makers are key. There will be some RB or WR who breaks out in the middle of the season that you can faab drop for. That I think you can fix a hole if need be.

In the above which currently is quite feasible at current ADP (Olave being a lucky 3 player drop) you have a positional advantage over 7 other teams that they will be angered by all season.

at the 10th pick...

ARSB and Cook are automatic grabs if either falls to #10. Would take Jeanty at #11.

then #30 / #31 could go Loveland or 2 WR's from the group above. The pundits are high on Jaylen Waddle too.

if the RB's really go flying off the board by 30-31...could consider Swift at #31. He should be there. Solid RB2 and great flex

definitely scoop up Allgeier at the end of the draft in case Love can't go in week 1

Committing to X position in Y round can get you in trouble.

If an elite QB or TE drops take em.

Just let the draft take it's course and pick the best players available at positions you need.

Absolutely...this group I've been with for 10 years now and they are pretty conservative with their picks. Outside of Mahomes and Kelce peak years, everyone picks within the rounds you're supposed to. Allen may go 4th, but the QB onslaught will go around 6th or 7th.

I think this is the right strategy in 12 team. At 10 team you need difference makers. Bowers is a difference maker.

To have a team that can be league winning you need to hit homeruns in the middle of the draft.
Dowdle, Mason and Bill are homerun type players. Along with Stribling, Jakobi Lane and Cyrus Allen. Those guys you can pick later. Unless your league starts 3 WR and 2 flex plus 2 RBs. Then that means you need more middle guys.

Interesting strategy waiting on RB's after Cook or Jeantry until the 7th round.

Why Bowers over McBride or Loveland? You're thinking he wouldn't make the 3rd round? (I see his ADP is late 2nd early 3rd)

FYI...our league is PPR standard (1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1WR/RB, K, DEF, 6 Bench)

So two different questions:
1. How confident are you that McBride will be there at the end of round 3? If very confident maybe you do wait.
2. If McBride is gone are you comfortable taking Loveland like he is / could be in that tier 1 TE category?

An easier way to think about is would you trade Bowers + McConkey for Loveland + JJ.

Me I worry about the mouths to feed in Chicago. And yeah it is great their head coach wants to set the scoring record but I dont know that Caleb Williams is that good.
Bowers will have no target competition. Id be shock if they are both healthy if Bowers doesnt get considerable more volume. And volume is $ in PPR.

What makes you think Caleb Williams isn't that good? Dude has crazy arm talent, has apparently gotten faster, and is now going into Year 2 of a Ben Johnson offense.

He is good. I dont think he is lead a top 3 offense good. And with that many weapons of the offense I worry about hot and cold moments. Also his completion percentage gives me pause.
Lets not forget in 2 playoff games he threw 2 and 3 picks.

Williams' completion % is abysmal(58% last season). He's not nearly as good as most people think he is.

A lot of my picks fell exactly where you were suggested…and there was talk TE may go quick before we started, so snagged Bowers. Only slight buyers remorse was picking Jeanty over Cook as it was a bit weird to pick 2 Raiders back to back. I got a little biased and had to pick KC as my 15th pick!

We'll see if his completion % goes up in his 2nd year. The first year of a Ben Johnson offense is notoriously difficult. Even for a seasoned vet like Goff his completion % dropped in his first year with Ben Johnson. For a rookie QB, that's especially difficult. I think it's unfair to criticize his completion %. He lead them to a playoff win and only threw 7 picks. He also provided 400 yards rushing and 3 TDs. I'd put money on his completion % jumping up to 64-67% this year.

Also, not all completions are the same. Know who had the second highest completion % last year? Tua! If Caleb makes 1 to 2 more completions per game he's at 65-67%. See how nuanced that argument is?

Dang that is a really solid draft! Nicely done. Sorry I didnt think of the Jeantry and Bowers on the same team. Maybe you could see if you can trade RBs. If they rate Jeantry higher it would be a wash and you could diversify.
