Maybe consider RB TE, WR WR.

Cook / Jeantry
Bowers
Olave / Ladd / Higgins
Garrett Wilson
Burrow
DJ Moore

Then I would aggressively reach for Dowdle, Mason and Bill Croskey. Also try to get Allgier.

In 10 team I feel like positional difference makers are key. There will be some RB or WR who breaks out in the middle of the season that you can faab drop for. That I think you can fix a hole if need be.

In the above which currently is quite feasible at current ADP (Olave being a lucky 3 player drop) you have a positional advantage over 7 other teams that they will be angered by all season.

Interesting strategy waiting on RB's after Cook or Jeantry until the 7th round.

Why Bowers over McBride or Loveland? You're thinking he wouldn't make the 3rd round? (I see his ADP is late 2nd early 3rd)

FYI...our league is PPR standard (1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1WR/RB, K, DEF, 6 Bench)

So two different questions:
1. How confident are you that McBride will be there at the end of round 3? If very confident maybe you do wait.
2. If McBride is gone are you comfortable taking Loveland like he is / could be in that tier 1 TE category?

An easier way to think about is would you trade Bowers + McConkey for Loveland + JJ.

Me I worry about the mouths to feed in Chicago. And yeah it is great their head coach wants to set the scoring record but I dont know that Caleb Williams is that good.
Bowers will have no target competition. Id be shock if they are both healthy if Bowers doesnt get considerable more volume. And volume is $ in PPR.

A lot of my picks fell exactly where you were suggested…and there was talk TE may go quick before we started, so snagged Bowers. Only slight buyers remorse was picking Jeanty over Cook as it was a bit weird to pick 2 Raiders back to back. I got a little biased and had to pick KC as my 15th pick!

If you are able to drop a bench player after their game starts, id add Stribling and drop your kicker. Honestly id almost rather play without a kicker week 1 just to have Stribling on my roster. He could easily be in a prominent role week 1. He has gotten targets from Purdy already in preseason.

Uh oh Jeanty hurt in practice today and could not put weight on his leg. The team gathered afterwards together to recognize the moment. That doesn't sound good at all.

That is brutal. Add his backup now. Drop your kciker!

Add Mike washington

Gotta figure the entire Raider's offense will take a huge hit with Jeanty out. Bowers may see more targets but they'll be much less productive. Brutal for the previous poster who took Jeanty at 1 and Bowers at 2.

Wow…not even 24 hours after my draft and my 1st pick may be done for the year.

We don't have a waiver so can drop/pickup at anytime…just snagged Washington. However, high percentage LV will go looking for a replacement from another team via trade.

Doubt whoever they get will displace Washington. They aren't in the hunt this year so they aren't gonna get a big fish. Washington is a freak athlete. If Jeanty is out, Washington will be the guy.

Possible but unless they are stupid they knew they weren't winning their division this year. I bet this means Maxx becomes a cowboy. I dont think it is hopeless. Jalen Nailor is also a player that is in play. I think they will throw the ball alot.

Fantasy managers drafting this early should really reconsider. Way too much time between Aug 22 and the start of the season. Today's players getting hurt in training camp like never before. They're fragile as glass.

back to Jeanty...

his ADP (as expected) is falling -- down to the #22 to #25 range -- understandably so

if you pick at #1 (Gibbs) or #2 (Bijan) would you feel better gambling on his injury at the 2nd/3rd round turn?

whereas a manager who starts with #3 Chase or #4 Puka...doesn't have that luxury

i.e. better grab Hampton or Henry as your RB1

In a competitive ppr / half ppr, I think the Chase owner is looking at Love or Jeantry in that case. I bet Jeantry will go earlier. I think the Chase owner could be forced into WR WR for value. Then get Breece Hall, Swift and Price in the next 3 rounds. Hoping Burrow falls to the 6.

couple of other players of interest...

- DeVonta Smith...he's going in the group of 3rd round WR's. Haven't drafted him yet because Olave, Pickens, Nabers, even Waddle seem to have greater upside. Not sure Hurts can make him into a top 10 WR

- Josh Jacobs...he's falling to the #40 to #45 range in drafts. Lots of concerns but he is the RB1 and goal-line back for an offense that should be good. Have to get Lloyd as the handcuff

I actually like Devonta.

He was a borderline top 10 WR with AJ Brown. Those targets gotta go somewhere.

I'd take him over Olave and Pickens

I had draft yesterday and had #4 pick. Was able to get Puka-Henry-Jeanty

I'd draft, esp Jacobs but also Jeanty at their current ADP in a heartbeat. Scared money never wins. Yes it's gonna cost you a handcuff pick (if you're smart) but the area where you're taking that handcuff is full of low level contributors and bye-week-maybe fill ins

I wouldn't go THAT far but I'm absolutely targeting Devonta as my WR2. Going to be an absolute target hog without AJ there whining about not getting fed and Hurts having to force feed him to shut him up. Goedert will be a sneaky mid/late round flyer if you wait on TE

Im more bearish on Smith. Hurts completed 20 or more passes 6 times. Hurts completed 15 or fewer passes 6 times. A 30% share gives you 5 to 7 catches a game.

Now lets factor in that Smith will now be getting opponents best cornerback and will now be a key player the defense will scheme against. If he isnt a real #1, which i dont think he is, then I think Hurts will run more and or look to Goedert, Barkley and wicks.

A note on Hurts. Dak completed 114 more passes for 1,300 more yards and 5 more TDs. That equates to 270 more ppr points for receivers. Pickens got 292 fantasy points.

Man my draft went sideways quick and with the 4th pick I ended up having to go no RB.

Wasn't touching CMC at 4 and went Puka, then RBs were dried up by Rd 2.

Ended up with Puka, Nabers, and Allen with my first 3 picks and DMont and Brooks as my starting RBs

How fckd am I? Gonna have to trade a WR for a RB.

I got CMC at 7 and picked up Henry in the 3rd somehow.

Got AJB and j Williams for WR.

And Prescott.

Had to draft 2 weeks ago but not mad at the results.

I'll either win the league or get 9th

In a 12 team half-ppr league I got JSN, Omarion Hampton, Olave, Tet McMillan, Tuten and Tyler Warren with my 1st 6 rounds. Feel really happy with this draft.

RB2 spot is uncertain but I'm confident I can figure something out with Tuten, Pollard and Lloyd.

Aaron Donald unretired. Not a surprise.

I think this is bad for Rams offense. Except Corum. This team will win on defense. I dont see them scoring as much. They just wont need to.

Rams had a solid defense last year, finishing 10th in points allowed, and still finished first in points scored. They won't be shy about scoring points.

My question about the Rams is whether we think it is worth drafting Rams DST as the first DST of the board in the middle rounds. Do we think they will score enough fantasy points ahead of the field to make it worth using high draft capital on that pick rather than waiting until the end of the draft to get our DST and stream the position throughout the season.
dixichkn
How long do you want to ignore this user?

The only defense I have ahead of the Rams is the Seahawks. Look at their schedule. It's absolute cake.

The Texans technically have the best defense in the league but their first half schedule is brutal
W

it's very tempting to just follow the Browns (or Raiders) offense around the league

like Cleveland at Jacksonville in week 1

Raiders at Chargers in week 2

Also people need to remember. Starting QBs will get hurt. Their backups will be way worse. Average defenses will score a bunch of points. If you draft a defense high you could see yourself losing to streamed defenses

On the flip side of that, having Seattle until week 11 without having to stream or give up waiver priority will sure be a luxury
im not saying give up a 9th or 10th rd pick for them. But after that it's something to consider. Lots of sleeper potential you can go with at the skill positions late. And yeah you wanna get a halfway decent backup QB esp if you draft an injury-waiting-to-happen like Burrow or Daniels

If you're a defense streamer, start off with the Chiefs. Look at their first 4 games before their bye.
thegoodolag15
How long do you want to ignore this user?

Streaming defenses is typically one of the best fantasy strategies unless you have an absolutely elite defense.
Ag_07
How long do you want to ignore this user?
AG
IMO streaming defenses can get dicey especially if you're using FAAB to outbid others doing the same thing.
