Forget locking up the #4 WR spot... that is the floor. Gallup better improve over last year or Tolbert is going to start taking some / a lot of his #3 reps.

That right there is why Grier hasn't found a steady job in the NFL. One play before the 2 minute warning.... he could easily pick up the 1st down with his legs.

Instead he throws a dangerous pass that had 0 chance to be completed and we still need that 1st down.

He's just not playing smart this preseason

Not an NFL example, but this is how Mike Evans' career went from 2011-2012. He barely knew how to line up correctly or run a basic route tree when he got here.

Not an NFL example, but this is how Mike Evans' career went from 2011-2012. He barely knew how to line up correctly or run a basic route tree when he got here.

Devonta Adams was this way for more than a year. He didn't become the Devonta Adams that we know until year three I believe.

I fell asleep at halftime but good grief… that was another Taco Smith performance. Even the announcers were calling him out.

Right now I'm thinking we keep 4 RBs and only 5 WR. That's assuming at least 2 of those RBs play special teams.

For our WRs we have CD, Cooks, Gallup, Tolbert and Turpin. We stash whoever we want on the squad in case of injury and feel OK if they are called up (Brooks, Semi, Houston).

I think we see a lot of 2 TE sets again and we keep 4. Fergs, Schoon and Hendershot are locks... Mckeon or Stephens for the 4th spot.

I'm going to be absolutely stunned if our defense isn't filthy this year. Our 2nd stringers are giving starting offenses all kinds of trouble.

Start Hankins and keep him fresh with a Mazi rotation... should be a great anchor for our other guys to terrorize the QB and RBs. With year 3 Osa looking really good so far, our pass rush will be 2nd to none!

Now consider the fact that (assuming Gilmore hasn't taken a step back) our secondary might be the best in the NFL and we could be dominant. Best Cowboys D since '92 is a very real possibility.

Watching the replay rn. Grier ain't it, he's so indecisive. That said I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas keeps him because it's the Joneses

I never get anything out of preseason. 1s barely play. No reason for them to play.

When I covered sports back when, coaches used to say the hardest college to NFL jump was wide receiver, which is why you see so many rookie WRs struggle, and why it takes some guys years to adjust. The road to stardom is littered with All America WRs who couldn't adjust to the physicality and mental aspect of the position at the next level.

Yep, I've heard the same listening to a ton of Cowboys talk radio over the past 20 years.

I've just never seen a guy 100% NOT get it (lining up off-sides last year... come on man!) to being a guy that looks like he could have a legitimate NFL career as a solid #2 or #3 WR. Amazing turnaround in 1 off season of work.

Good for him and good for the Cowboys! Only thing left is we gotta see it on Sundays.

What a kick in the balls. Overshown looked like he was going to be pretty good.
