Unfortunately this happens every year. We talk and talk about how difficult roster cuts are going to be and how certain players are on the outside looking in.... and then the injuries hit. Guys end up making the team because either the young guy ahead of them gets hurt or they themselves get hurt and the Cowboys are able to stash & save them on IR for another year.

This year, McKeon is that lucky guy. Pretty sure Stephens was going to make this team and I'm not sure if McKeon would have been practice squad eligible or not. Doesn't matter anymore. Pretty sure Cowboys will keep 4 TEs again and Mr. McKeon still has a job with the Dallas Cowboys.

And I'm guessing 2nd year LB Devin Harper was the guy saved by the Overshown injury.

Very much so. He was definitely buying what Dan Quinn was selling and it was working. Hell, on the play he got hurt, the dude was shot out of a cannon and made a great solo tackle on the sideline. That guy covered a ton of ground in a hurry.

This definitely hurts us and our LB rotation.

They lost Malik Jefferson in the first preseason game too.

Look I don't care if these kids are sips. I just want the team to be good and not having those guys is going to make us not as deep.

Not an NFL example, but this is how Mike Evans' career went from 2011-2012. He barely knew how to line up correctly or run a basic route tree when he got here.

Evans played 1 year of football in HS for a trash program and he caught less than 20 passes. Of course he had a huge learning curve when he got here, he was a basketball player learning to play football.

Happens every time a team plays the Seahawks. Pete and staff meet with the team to go over medical reports, MRI's, and x-rays of vulnerable players from the other team. The previous injuries get targeted.


I'm not kidding you guys I saw the above comment posted elsewhere today and it was so ludicrous that I had to laugh.

Luckily we have a great group of safeties that can spin down as well. Quinn is the master of this.

I'm calling it now, and I know a lot of people agree, but Deuxe Vaughn is RB2 behind pollard. Dude has shown quite a bit in the preseason

Apparently he showed up day 1 ready to be a pro. Based on comments from the coaches, it was apparent by his presence in the meeting rooms alone that this guy was special.

Definitely a real shame, but as it stands right now, I'll take that over losing one of our starting O-line guys!

Sam Williams arrested for drugs and weapon charges…

Weed and a gun. Which I'm guessing the gun is no biggie if it weren't for the weed. Maybe he thought he was still in Seattle.

Exactly. I carry a gun quite frequently (if we are talking in a vehicle). Never had any problems, but then again, I've never touched an illegal drug either so there's that!

Sam doesn't come across as a terrible guy, but he's definitely gotten himself into a few knucklehead situations.

Williams was arrested while he was at Ole Miss on a felony sexual battery charge which caused some NFL teams to have no interest in drafting him.

Williamsn isn't a linebacker. No chance he gets cut unless there is something more serious we don't know about. A lot of guys get the dreaded weed plus a gun arrest and nothing ever comes of it.

Kelvin Joseph was in a car during a fatal drive by incident. His posse murdered a guy and Kelvin isn't even all that good.

Pretty sure Sam Williams and his pass rushing skills are safe.

Oh, he's made the team. I'm just concerned that Mr. Goddell is going to suspend Sam for a bunch of games. NBA and NFL are very concerned about guns. See Ja Morant. And even tho I'd imagine this isn't close to what Morant did, it's still a professional player with drugs and a handgun with a spotty record involving other crimes.

Yeah possibly. I'm still not sure how Bossman escaped any sort of punishment from the league. Friggin Zeke got 6 games because his crazy ex told a bunch of lies to the extent the cops and DA all said "she's full of crap".

For more reason than 1, I hope Deuce blows up the league over the next few years. I think back to my childhood when all my friends kept talking about Spud Webb, the NBA star who played with giants. These guys are inspirational and the league (and Dallas) needs more of that!
