I guess it all depends on who they get to fill that spot.

And I don't think anyone would mind clauses in the contract, but you have to do that up front. You can't try to sneak those in after there's already been a verbal agreement on the deal.

Dallas had his back on the weed from day 1 and always fought his suspensions. I do not believe they were asking much there.

This could be Gregory changing his mind a 2nd time (possibly infuenced when they called to tell Denver "nevermind") and his agent grasping at anything tiny to run cover for bailing on Dallas after Dallas stood by him for so long. It's clear he's the source of this rumor, so while I am not in the Stephen or Jerry fan club, I'm also not dumb enough to immediately buy what one side tells me especially when it seems odd and they apparently offer no detail.

Agree. I think Parson's max impact and value is at disrupting quarterbacks, not chasing TE's and backs in coverage

They've got a qb that starts seeing ghosts when he has a stretch of getting pressure. Gotta fix the OL

My prediction is that this is a blessing in disguise. Gregory has immense talent, but he's a knucklehead that has missed most of his rookie contract and has lost us some games with dumb penalties. No way I'd want to commit big money to a guy like that. Being one of Jerry's projects, I figured there was no way he'd be allowed to leave. Pretty happy about this now. It's hard to find that sort of talent but not that level of "production". 0-6 sacks per year isn't exactly rare

Yes, but you don't try to insert that language AFTER you have the deal worked out. This is very much a black eye and does not reflect well on the front office.

There is nothing to see. The Cowboys made a mistake (Stephen in particular) and reports are that Jerry is pissed. If Gregory ends up smoking pot and getting suspended, that still doesn't make what the Cowboys did right. You can't try to change the deal after it's agreed upon and then get to act surprised when the guy says that's not what we agreed upon.

A deal isn't done until its signed. I've never been in on any contract negotiation where some back and forth redlining wasn't happening AFTER we had verbally agreed to terms. If Gregory backed out because of that then he's just spinning. All yall condemning the FO for this process don't know ***** Who cares if Jerry is pissed? We've been trying to remove him from the process forever anyway. Now we should just let him unilaterally do deals? Yeah I dont think so.

Well, if they end up with Von, they've upgraded, but that will be because of dumb luck and their incompetence.

You can think this all you want, but people around the league will not look favorably on this. When you agree to a deal, you agree to deal. Why do you think Gregory is spinning and not the Cowboys?

And BTW, they Cowboys are already spinning saying that the language is standard. I'm not buying for one minute that Gregory's camp just decided to jump ship the last second for a deal that is the exact same money, and will actually net less $ in his pocket due to taxes. You telling me you believe that?

Well the report was he agreed to goto Denver first. Maybe that's where he wanted to be all along. Msybe its because weed is legal there.

At any rate, there is zero reason to trust Gregory's explanation over the Cowboys. Some of yall will believe anything if it gives you a chance to disparage the organization.

Also his agent has beef with Stephen and lives in Denver. Based on the reports coming out it sounds like his agent had a HUGE influence in this.

Yeah they hate that Jerry isn't running things anymore. Nobody paid more money to average players than Jerry. He was an agents dream. I honestly see this as a good thing for the organization.

The fact is the Cowboys stood by Gregory for YEARS. If he wants to turn them down now because of a perceived slight then thats more a slight on his character (or lack thereof).

Now we're talking... feels good to have some real Cowboys talk once again.


I'll keep saying it until I'm blue in the face:

We had to make changes somewhere and I'm glad Randy is off to Denver, I'm glad Cooper is in Cleveland, and I hope we find a trade partner for Collins.

If we simply held onto all of them and their million dollar vet contracts, not a damn thing was gonna change on the field in 2022. I'm excited to see who we bring in and what we can do with this 2022 team!

Because Dallas history if anything is to be too favorable to existing players to the detriment of the franchise, not trying to screw them.
