The "word of mouth" version of the story is that ICE boxed in a Venezuelan guy and shot him in the back of the head, in his car.

I have to imagine that this version of the story was written before the shots were fired.

They likely have everything ready to go, just waiting for something to happen.

The Austin American Statesman is famously slow for reporting the news, usually reporting crime within 48 hours.

The fact that they have a story out within an hour or two is a solid indication that the response was wargamed in advance by both the journalists and the agitators.

Riots, nope. The Democrats will not allow their brown shirts to go out and try to burn down the town. That is something which would actually hurt them in the election. Texas isn't Minnesota and outside of places like Austin, few if any voters will support burning down the capitol city over an illegal being shot.
