no, but not wearing deodorant, not bathing everyday, and not washing your workout clothes is a choice, not genetics. decisions, decisions, decisions. If you make bad decisions, you can only blame yourself. It is a very easy, simple and cheap choice to make. It doesn't take lifelong therapy sessions to do those things.

Fair point. Those that have been here for a while have more liberal tendencies, for sure. I'm referring to India itself. Modi is a business oriented leader. They are clearly capitalist there and favor a Trump led USA than the alternative. This is based on my experience from going there and knowing many professionals that have some life experiences.

ETA - I'm glad the H1B issues are being addressed. People should hate the game more than the player; but there's a lot of hating the player. Every culture is different; maybe a little grace and tolerance would go a long way.

Indian culture being the closest to ours in the side of the world is like being the tallest midget. I've had enough of the pro globalism, anti nationalism, give everything away at the expense of the middle class crap. All these people do is come over and scam while importing their third world culture. Sure some are smart and add value, but it's not the majority.

A lot of anti-Indian comments are based on real life encounters.
Couple of weeks ago I was in a doctor's waiting room. Indian lady listening to Bollywood tunes at top volume on her phone, no headphones. Indian man walks in with BO bad enough to drop an elephant. These two transformed the entire experience for everyone in there, and not in a good way.
I finally told the lady to turn her phone down. The man next to her told me "thank you."
Nothing I could do about the smelly guy.
People across the US are waking up and seeing how their entire neighborhood or community has been transformed, seemingly overnight. Even in small towns. They have no recourse other than to express their feelings.
You can take them out of the 3rd world **** hole, but you can't take the third world out of them.

I have mixed feelings about all of this...Have a sense that ultimately making the bar high on H1B's is a good thing.
That said, the south Asians in north Tx aren't to blame here. They didn't create the program, they're just looking out for their own interests by taking advantage of it. Insulting them and their culture is unnecessary.

Unfortunately, our political system which is meant to not allow overarching, sweeping changes, could not react fast enough.
You literally have public schools in Frisco that are 90+% Indian.
We built in prosper in 2021. At the time, you could count on 2 hands the Indian families in the hood. 4 years later? Entire streets were Indian and new phases probably 50+% Indian.
That isn't normal. Isn't ok. And is a shock to any culture or system.

I'd also add that it's horse**** that 1 HEB leads to like 8 people. Kids, wife, parents. Then their brother and his clan of kids.

I am with you on this. All these "smelly" and "curry sucks" jibes are lame. If folks don't want to eat curry or whatever then don't.
Here is what happened. Until around 2012, US had a high bar to entry. Many got rejected, mostly the best and brightest came in, some average but still good. Of course some morons as well but very few. Indian immigration was not a problem and they did not stand out. More importantly, they were grateful for the opportunity and humble and tried to fit in and were not intrusive, demanding or annoying.
Post 2012, the doors opened wide, standards fell or were non existent and everyone came in. India opened many many engineering colleges (with low low standards) and they all got jobs in the US through Infosys TCS and Wipro. Everyone made money. As long as people made money no one cared about long term impact. Both Americans and politicians are guilty. Then wokeism came and it made things worse. No one can even complain or get canceled.
Who lost? Americans. America.
You sleep with your front door open at night and what happens? Animals come in, insects, bugs, coyotes, snakes, mice and in some cases even human bums from the street. It is hard to get rid of the infestation. We did this for a few dollars because we are "capitalists".
The Indians who migrated before 2012 are the doctors, engineers and company builders who helped make America greater. The ones who came in after that are the arrogant ungrateful grifters who are convinced that they are the best, Americans are stupid and they need to save America. They are the ones on Tik Tok doing the stupid dances.
So it is our fault. But that is in the past. Wise up and push H1Bs out but don't disrespect an ancient culture or alienate those who are fighting for America. There will be short term pain for sure and everyone will say told ya!!! ha ha you need us. But long term it is for the best.
That is the reason why I post so much about H1B. Because it is a tsunami that is consuming America and people don't seem to know it.

Dude. The vast majority of us would never buy an Indian owned home. It would need to be gutted to the studs and concrete, and probably chemically sealed. The yard would certainly need to be re-sodded and probably the landscaping redone from scratch. None of this is hyperbole.
There are some embarassing comments on here, but I think folks should see the backlash as bipartisan, net, and driven by the behavior of the vast majority of the H1B populations we are familiar with. It also isn't hard to find 'their' side making bellicose statements in other corners of the interweb, too.

The problem really got bad when they implemented what amount to caste networks within businesses. I don't want to see places called "State Bank of Texas" where the entire leadership team is Indian.
In no universe would a real company be able to get away with that **** and have only white men in leadership roles.

Agreed. Very good friend of mine is second generation Indian and probably knows more about football than most on this board. He's straight up American.
