When the decisions are made in blue cities not to arrest for theft below certain amounts. People then go in and steal repeatedly under certain amounts. The real surprise is how long some stores have lasted.

Every single aisle was locked up behind glass. If you needed literally ANYTHING, you had to get an employee get it for you.

That's probably the only way to give these communities functional stores. They'd be like a bank with a teller behind think bulletproof glass. You'd walk up, make an order and they'd go get it for you.

This was my experience at a Walgreens near Madison square gardens last summer. Took 30 minutes to do 10 minutes worth of shopping and we narrowly missed becoming collateral damage from a druggy having a shouting match and fist fight with the magnetic theft system at the entrance. He was talking to it like they were old familiar enemies with a blood feud.
