All he did was try to take a broken national monument and fix it for America's 250th birthday. That's it. And he did it for far less and in less time than anyone would have predicted. And all the deranged left did was attack it because their feeble minds couldn't stand for Trump to have a win, and for him to get a little positive press during the celebration. They hate Trump more than they care about this country, or for what is right and good.

They are the most miserable people on the planet. Their lives are their punishment.

Sure. But have you presented evidence it is not 900 feet?

The burden of proof is on those making the claim.

Because until then, what are we holding Trump responsible for? Protecting federal property? Making things better? Calling our the lunacy and derangement of those who simply hate America?

If it was his limo that caused the damage so he could have a photo op then he and his administration should admit that, rather than attempt to scapegoat others. It is not difficult proposition.

Are you contending Trump broke some law? Should he be impeached?

No. If this administration wants to have a staged photo opp they allowed to do that.

Well if he blamed vandalism for a "Cut" that was actually due to the weight of the limo that was driven through the pool, he should admit he was wrong.

Link to the analysis his motorcade caused this? Reddit, The Hill, The Atlantic, and Facebook are not sources.

I saw on Reddit's FB page where they quoted The Atlantic, who quoted The Hill that Trump....as he's prone to do....flew off the handle, reached forward, and grabbed the steering wheel of his motorcade limo. And then, driving it onto the pool grounds.

I mean, if that's just hearsay, then what constitutes actual evidence?!?!?!?!

Good enough for me. As a 3-time Trump voter, that's dips at the very strong fabric that binds us together, it tears me apart at the seems with great force to say this, but with all the leaks going on and his polluting the swamp bot draining it, I have to call for his resignation.

it's too much.

Can someone help me understand how these coatings or liners work?

A single hole causes the whole thing to catastrophically fail?

Irrespective of what caused the hole, that just doesn't seem to be a robust system designed to last years or decades. There was bound to be a cut at some point.

No, it's similar to the Rhino Lining that you see in truck beds (they make several different products for different uses). The CEO of Rhino Linings has said it's likely due to a separation from the primer layer in certain spots, and that the waterproofing membrane is not damaged. They have a webpage about it, and they're going to be releasing a case study sometime this summer.

Link to the study? As the supplier of the material, they do have a vested interest in what happened.

Only thing I see is a statement that they are aware and it appears that they are saying it's cosmetic.

Roger. That's actually from earlier than the statement I linked to and appears that they always intended to do a "case study" on the project, not the issues.

As the provider of the materials and almost certainly the instruction on application, maintenance and such, it will not be any sort of independent review.

Also, quite reasonable there are two separate issues occurring, ones related to vandalism and ones related to product and installation. Rhino is only interested in their part of it.

Knowing now that it's Rhino Lining, I have no idea how that could be vandalized. You couldn't peel that stuff off a truck bed if your life depended on it. It must have been a really terrible install for it to be peeling off.

Per the links above, Rhino would have been onsite.

I would imagine at this point we have two very conflated issues.

There are areas where the lining has separated for whatever reason. Could be they didn't follow the proper curing in order to have it ready by a certain date. Could be those delam-ed areas where them subsequently pulled on.

And there likely was some direct vandalism including someone cutting long tears or using a knife to make the and delam-ed areas worse.

I have not yet seen all that sorted out and it should not be that hard. But… I have no doubt that Trump lets the misinfo swirl cause thats just who he is. He keeps it in the news cycle to show hes fixing it and that the left hates america.

He made a bad decision on an insignificant issue. Looking at the drained pool, seems there is so much dirt it would never show blue. He probably said get it done and his staff thought it was not worth the energy to fight it and I agree.

This issue is the perfect microcosm of the current administration. Take something that is imperfect but functional, talk **** about how you are going to fix it and then go about in the the most half cocked and corrupt way possible and once it fails attempt to deflect with a scapegoat that the diehards will have something to defend to the death.

Who?mikejones!
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Nah, I see it differently.

Take an issue that needs to be fixed, hire a contractor, get it "fixed," then have people vandalize it, then have the national media focus on such an insignificant item for weeks on in.

I hadn't listen to nor in a long time and turned it on just to see what they were saying one day. The first story was an artist or architecture crying over the reflection pool about how trump is destroying all its meaning and symbolism. Come on, get real.

It's just such a non starter and didn't deserve the amount of playtime it got.

Carry on

It was not by any means functional. That's just nonsense.

What corruption?

Oh, and below is other work he did. For things that were imperfect but "functional".

They hate that he's cleaned up crime in DC and showed millions in that city that they don't have to live like they have been living.

Face it libs, every city you own is a cesspool of crime and homelessness and it's not getting better, it's getting worse, much much worse.

It's a very nice park. Not so much from the 1960s until recently.

Fell into disrepair after the race riots and continued its decline because of DC's neglect. I don't know exactly when the immediate area gentrified but 16th Street was the western border of DC's "Beirut". As you moved further east, the city was hollowed out by the riots. Parts of NW DC remained barren and burnt out into the 2000s.

Or maybe it really was flawed installation as many people have reported including those with knowledge on installing these systems. Allowing 8-10 ton vehicles to roll through right after installation likely didn't help.

Not everything is a conspiracy. I admit if I had been there I would have reached down and grabbed the material out of curiosity and I bet I am not in the minority.

Kudos to the DOJ for swiftly fessing up and admitting they were wrong. As we saw when these arrests were first happening there are a ton of people who will believe anything (some on this thread), so the DOJ probably could have gaslit and obfuscated on this for a couple of more months at least.
