It's a National Park Service official.

Where was this?

Pirro admonishes the DOJ as they should have come to this conclusion.

Essentially the same, but admittedly i did not catch that detail. I was differentiating it was jot a third party.

And i said clearly that Pirro admonishes the DOJ as appears appropriate. Even if the had hard evidence on Hearn pulling on the already damaged liner, it should have been clear his actions, whilst deplorable, would not be criminal nor civil.

She's better than Dems, but is she was honest she'd have dropped this before indictment occurred.

Quote:

The witness's testimony established that the pool had substantial preexisting damage requiring repair before any alleged conduct by Mr. Hearn. According to the witness, the pool wasleaking more than one million gallons of water per week; its expansion joints had exceeded theirservice life; and the liner already contained a rip, See Sealed Exhibit 1, Grand Jury Tr. of MR. at6-7, 19-20 (July 2, 2026). The govemment's witness further confirmed that repairs were to address those conditions. Exhibit 1 at 28. Those facts establish the legally relevantbaseline: the condition of the property immediately before the alleged conduct.Against that baseline, the government's witness could not identify the repairs necessary toaddress damage allegedly caused by Mr. Hearn. The witness testified that the repairs at issue wouldhave been necessary regardless of Mr. Hearn's alleged conduct. Exhibit 1 at 26, 28. The government's estimated repair rangeS6,000 to $15,000was based on the size of an area, rather than on damage attributed to any particular act by Mr. Hearn

If people would pause for a moment…

The witness in this case may actually be the contractor. They are stating the expansion joints had failed causing the liner to rip / fail, known and estimated to be leaking 1 million gallons.

Expansion joints from Obama were part of this project but i am not sure if it was just inspect and repair or complete replacement.

Hearn is not absolved os poor conduct. He evidently was pulling on the already ripped fabric. But he, per the witness who may be the subcontractor, said that what Hearn did had no impact on the need to repair.

Pirro says then there is hardly a crime and admonishes the DOJ as they should have come to this conclusion.

Or you can conclude Hearn dindonuffin.

I would be inclined to give you more credibility if you were willing to admit that Trump claiming this was caused by vandalism was a load of bunk.
Also, Pirro is trying to throw everyone else under the bus when she should have been the one to wait until all the facts were in house before she charged this. Instead, she indicted a ham sandwich when she should have known better. And by the way, who employs Pirro? The DOJ? Who's really at fault here then?

I have no issue admitting they mishandled the "vandalism" being the main cause and should not have charged the canoe dude.

At the same time, when the press blows up every little thing then it's hard to get to mad at Team Trump making molehills and mountains.

When the TDSers admit their obsessions, maybe I can admit Trumps team acts too fast, goes to far.

Until then…

you know the Democrat platform and message is effective and resonates with people when the biggest bump fest by leftist losers occurs on a story that would not have even been mentioned by mainstream media under any other President...

The improvement project in the National Mall.

Congrats leftists, some guy no one knows, who put a canoe into a national monument and canoe'd around for a bit for no reason, had charges dropped against him. Im guessing you wont compare him to the hundreds of people thrown in the gulag for years by Josef Biden for the high crime of being near the Capitol on January 6th, since ...you know, he got due process and all of that. And you are big Due Process people, except when it comes to white male conservatives (who you have rebranded as "white nationalists", Orwellianly).

Did prior presidents tweet about how they were going to fix things and then completely screw it up?

Did prior administrations publicly blame vandalism, absent proof, in an effort to cover for their failures?

Did prior administrations arrest and attempt to railroad an innocent person in an attempt to deflect blame?

I'm pretty sure if any administration did any of these things in the past it would have been mainstream news.

Proving my point about how some of you can't have an honest debate

Since it seems like some of you haven't watched it, here's Trump in his own words. I know it's not a 1 minute sound bite from your favorite echo-chamber news source but please just watch and listen to this man speak for the 5 minute video and tell us all honestly that you believe everything he says here

So what is the issue with what he said? That you don't believe him? Okay.

Yeah because he was lying. It WAS the fault of the no-bid contractor. ****ty work and trying to blame vandals (with no evidence to support that claim). If you bothered to even look at the mechanical properties of the material you would have know it was complete bull**** of an excuse to say vandals damaged the pool liner being able to cut a slit of the liner. Nevermind there was no video to show this happening.

So many people have Tds on this thread. Ostriches when facts are presented.

Facts? Like the material properties of the liner if it was applied correctly.
Hardness: shore-D 60. A golf ball hardness is 50, a caster wheel is 60, a hard hat is 80
Tensile strength: 3200 psi like a nitrile NBR. Very strong for elastomer used in many oil and gas well completion applications (o-rings)
Tear resistance die C: 600 pli. Tear resistance of a poly urethane skateboard wheel
Impact resistance: 160 in/lbs tough polymer vs brittle. A heavy duty floor epoxy

Yeah Trump and maga lemmings don't care about these facts because that would mean that vandals couldn't have cut a slit in the liner and the fact that it was the no bid contractor that did ****ty work

Tell us about your analysis of the mechanical properties?

As with all of these "developments", I will await more details on this. Pirro certainly "rips" the contractor a new one in the filing.

I also do not believe there is indication that no one was pulling up the separated liner and being dolts about it, which is very bizarre behavior you just ignore.

And back my OP. This is a pure example how rabid and ******ed the Hate America folks are. The last 15 hours being no exception.

Anybody who is familiar with concrete coatings realizes all the characteristics listed have nothing to do with surface preparation and adhesion to concrete. You should leave the coating evaluation to the experts. A host of reasons could be applicators fault, defective material, improper mixing, environmental conditions, etc.

Also, this coating is not permanent will fail and require maintenance. As well as the expansion joints that will fail.

People are having fun with this because he didn't just want to fix the Reflecting Pool. It's that he also lambasted Obama and Biden for not fixing it (let's set aside that he was President in between them and didn't fix it then either). So when you try to fix it and do a shoddy job of it, and it still isn't fixed, people are going to poke fun at him.
He should be commended for fixing up the neighbor parks and monuments in DC. DOI hasn't had the best track record of park upkeep (primarily because of budget), and having nice public places for Americans to visit should be a bigger priority. So now that everyone has had their chance to point and laugh, let's fix it this time and do it right.

I think I want to know what the status of the actual problem is before getting all down to pointing of fingers.

It was known the job was rushed. Anyone who has ever worked in these sorts of scenarios knows things are over-promised.

Trump is who he is and can set very unrealistic demands and deadlines. He wanted a particular problem fixed for July 4th. It didn't work, it remains to be seen if if can be repaired or if it needs to be completely redone. Both the liner and the bubblers and the work are all required regardless of the rush by Trump.

In the grand scheme, this was not, is not, never has been and never will be that big of a deal. But damn its provided some entertainment.
