I can't wait to hear if this incident changed any minds on gun control for any of the lefty journalists attending the event. Maybe they now understand why some people would want to have the ability to protect themselves.

If the perp was smarter, this could have easily become the Washington D.C. version of the Luby's massacre in Killeen.

The guy in Killeen used a truck to gain entrance. This guy was on foot. With modern availability of e-scooters, body armor, drones, explosives, etc. This could have gotten very ugly.

Did his sister get the guns and knives? Or did the shooter buy them in VA?

Whose job is it to make sure weapons aren't staged? Or could someone, or a country, just pay for a room, definitely, stocking weapons and whatnot, until they get the chance at a function like this.

I'd like to think our law enforcement agencies in charge of protecting the president have stricter protocols in place for things like this.

Secret Service is usually in charge, along with other federal, state, and local agencies, if applicable, in sweeping the area prior to an event.

While this is obviously satire, I would not be shocked if the LA City teachers union contract has language that prohibits his termination, at least for now.

John Roberts on Fox just eviscerating the security at the hotel for guests. He checked in yesterday as he was attending the dinner and staying the night.

Said he drove his SUV, parked in underground garage, had checked in via app and had a virtual key, took luggage including long garment bags and went straight to his room. No security checks at all.

He indicates perp checked in Friday as Hawg indicated, and could have followed the same "approach" as Roberts to get to his room.

Says compared to international hotels hosting dignitaries and conferences, who screen all hotel guest and baggage, setup anticlimb fences, etc, the Hilton event was lacking.

Every passenger on a commercial airplane is vetted. Why should guests at a hotel hosting an event with the president not bet vetted?
