I think he has a good group of people. Strange that the Big 10 commissioner is on this committee but Sankey is not.
Coach K would be good also. But I have in the back of my mind that there are rumors about Coach K having Alzheimer's.

It's going to take a literal act of Congress to fix the problems that exist today, and one of the tools at their disposal is a limited antitrust exemption. I'm not sure how much better they can make it, but I don't know it can be any worse.

His solution is for himself to write an executive order placing every thing back to the way it was and then let the courts address it.

Maybe college sports should fix its problems or else just go away.

I can't see a good solution coming from the government.

My ultimate desire is that college stoprts would return to student athletes.


The deal-

- students get five years, 4 playing eligibility
- can transfer after 2 years, must sit one if in conference transfer
-1 "free" transfer (ooc), 2 total max
- can transfer if they graduate
-can transfer if the coach leaves, but cannot transfer to be with the coach

-scholarship are good for 2 year increments, at which time the school can release and student can transfer without penalty


In exchange for:

-room
-tuition
-food
-tutoring
-nutrition experts
-financial experts
-mental health
-health care
-degree worth thousands


No nil. No profit sharing.


Obviously, thered need to probably be some sort of professional league or development league for those who want to go start making money immediately.

Only way out is contracts. Will be a mess until then.

I don't disagree about going back to old way of doing things, from a fan perspective, however the NCAA f***ed themselves and lost and this is the new world we live in with college athletics.

They need to be employees of the universities with a signed contract. Professors sign contracts. They can become free agents and transfer once the coach or university allows them to. If they don't perform, they can be cut just like the NFL. It's a real mess right now. I don't know how it can be fixed other than the stiffer rules.

I just dont think its an unfair exchange to play sports for the education and all the things thay come with it

Student athletes get to finally get to make money from their fame. If we don't think that is fair, the we should stop selling tickets to the game and stop putting them on TV

Congress will find a way to make it even worse than it already is.

Funny thing is I trust the government more in fixing the NIL/college sports issues than I do ESPN/Disney and(or) the commissioners, especially Sankey.

Big 10 & SEC are generally against this change to allow the pooling.

ESPN is who started the arms race by trying to consolidate conferences. They thought they could kill the B12. They chose wrong. Their PAC12 got crushed. The cheating that once benefited certain teams is now legal and has brought parity. I don't see how they change much about the current system. You cannot hate espn enough.

They dont need to do anything. Let it play out for several years. Its way to early to try and fix it.

What do you want college sports to be?

I feel transfer rules maybe can get more strict, but the second you try to change NIL rules, the ncaa will collapse for football/basketball.
