Apparently the fear of this is polling well with Republicans in Texas, evidenced by every Republican saying they are against it and the proposition asking if the voters want a law against Sharia Law.

I don't see this boogie man as a big issue in the state. Is there a fear that some nutso judge is going to let Sharia Law trump Texas law? What is the big fear and why should I get it?

When you don't have anything to run for, you create something to run against.

Fear mongering is 90% of politics.

I've been seeing the political ads running nonstop for someone on the right. I didn't pay attention who.

But it it about Sharia Law and boys in girl's sports.

The ad has been playing constantly for weeks so.

It's not a big issue but that's not a reason not to preempt the practice and outlaw it.

Outlawing a barbaric practice prevents those issues?

This. It's called preventative maintenance. It's never too early to outlaw and fight Islam.

Otherwise, you end up like Europe.

First Amendment might be a problem with banning Islam. If Sharia Law practices violate Texas law (e.g. honor killing, beating your wife, etc). Texas law will prevail, no need to ban their religious laws if they are not illegal.

The talk about the Islamafication Of Texas is extremely valid. I live in North Richardson, which is now become Ground Zero (Pardon the expression) of the Muslim relocation in Texas. And knowing what we know about this religion, they would enact Sharia if they could.

The reason I asked where you're from is because it seems a lot further away when you're not exposed to it on a daily basis. You drive around here and see the Islamic neighborhoods and hot spots of where they've settled and realize that they are very much here and very much not trying to assimilate into our culture.

Again, I don't think it will ever get to Sharia because the Citizens of the state won't let it happen, but I also know what's going on in Europe and know that it needs to be stopped. I guess what I'm trying to say is there's a difference between Texas and Europeans and we won't allow it But to wave this off as a scare tactic isn't a good idea

Why can't we do that and outlaw sharia law? Did someone say we had to choose?

All true. Their breed rate is something the average American cannot begin to comprehend. I believe Islam will be the majority faith in Texas by 2040. They will simply take over through non-stop, sky rocketing birth rates for decades. Oh, and BTW, we'll be picking up the bill for each one of those births.

So when they say they want to outlaw Sharia Law, how do you see that being implemented? Will it become illegal for a father to require a perspective son-in-law to ask for his daughter's hand in marriage and what would be the punishment if a father demanded that courtesy? Would it be illegal for a husband to demand his wife wear a Hajib? I admit some of Sharia Law are an anathema to American thought but they are not illegal in themselves.

Why do we pretend like Muslims are the dominant overseas foreign group moving to Texas? It's far and away Indians and Hinduism, bro.

No way they could legally prevent someone from practicing it inside their own home. If that is how a family wants to live; it would fall under 1st Amendment grounds.

Probably couldn't even prohibit two people from signing a contract based on it if both parties agreed.

What they can do is prohibit is cities or counties to bending the knee to Muslims who demand special treatment/privileges, and prevent them from building a city that is ruled by Sharia law.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

So they will then end the law banning Sharia Law so what's the point?

I think existing law in Texas covers us adequately from a Muslim takeover until we are outbred. If outbreeding is the real boogie man, than you young people need to get to work.

Because many believe that's the same thing. Hinduism is just another name for a regional Sharia loving religion.

Islam and Hinduism are nothing alike. In fact Muslims and Hindus typically hate each other. The point is while Muslim immigration is a thing, it's completely dwarfed by the Indians moving here in droves on H1B visas. They have completely taken over a lot of the far north Dallas suburbs in Collin County, Coppell, Los Colinas, Richardson, and are well on their way to overtaking more elsewhere.

I haven't heard that Hinduism is out to rule the world.

My limited impression of Hinduism is that they are not violent.

Yeah but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm refuting that Islam will be the "dominant religion" by 2040. If any religion overtakes Christianity in Texas, it's going to be Hinduism on account of the sheer number of Indians moving here

I will vote in favor of anything against Sharia law.

No fear mongering.

I do not want Sharia law. I am not afraid of it taking over. I will gladly take steps, even if unnecessary and excessive, if it prevents that from ever happening.

Wow. I want the idiots who believe that Hinduism is the same as Islam to stand up and identify themselves.

Don't they read? Are they illiterate. Two separate religions coming from different parts of the world. Even the ages of the religions are way apart.

Read the props on the dem ballot. Just as funny to me.

Quote:

Texas should ban racially motivated redistricting, ban mid-decade redistricting, and create a non-partisan redistricting board to redraw lines every 10 years.

Quote:

Secure online voter registration should be accessible to all eligible Texas residents.

Quote:

Texas should address the state's housing crisis in affordability and access in both urban and rural communities.

Doesn't this all stem from the Islamic development in north Texas where you had to attend a certain mosque to even buy land? I do find it hilarious the initials of the developer are CCP
