Apparently the fear of this is polling well with Republicans in Texas, evidenced by every Republican saying they are against it and the proposition asking if the voters want a law against Sharia Law.

I don't see this boogie man as a big issue in the state. Is there a fear that some nutso judge is going to let Sharia Law trump Texas law? What is the big fear and why should I get it?

Have you not been paying attention to all the places where it starts creeping in despite the fact that no one wants it? Just pay off the right politicians to look the other way and before you know it you have a sharia law community with over 70000 people in it that you suddenly have to deal with.

Religions exemptions already have a place in the Supreme Court. Could SL be given the same?

No. We are not a theocracy.
No, I don't care what CNN or Miss NOW said this time

They were onto something. Just off about 1,660 miles southwest as the crow flies. Little Dallas Mavs owner birdie told me.

The talk about the Islamafication Of Texas is extremely valid. I live in North Richardson, which is now become Ground Zero (Pardon the expression) of the Muslim relocation in Texas. And knowing what we know about this religion, they would enact Sharia if they could.

The reason I asked where you're from is because it seems a lot further away when you're not exposed to it on a daily basis. You drive around here and see the Islamic neighborhoods and hot spots of where they've settled and realize that they are very much here and very much not trying to assimilate into our culture.

Again, I don't think it will ever get to Sharia because the Citizens of the state won't let it happen, but I also know what's going on in Europe and know that it needs to be stopped. I guess what I'm trying to say is there's a difference between Texas and Europeans and we won't allow it But to wave this off as a scare tactic isn't a good idea

This is their strategy. Concentrate in one area, win local elections and slowly spread and continue to gain political influence. Next thing you know, they have a person representing the state as a representative (Ihlan Omar)

I will vote for candidates who will ban the Sharia law. This is not fearmongering because it's better to take excessive steps to prevent Sharia law from taking over our state and country.

Agree with most of your points but beware of Democrat leadership should they ever run Texas. They will sell their soul for votes and give away our values.

Well, Islam is not compatible with Western society, and we see what's happening in Europe and even in places here. I don't think it's a fair thing. I think it's a true thing.

The fact that anyone in the United States of America has a legitimate concern about Sharia law tells you how ****ed up it is. And there is a legitimate concern.

I take it you don't know much of Dearborn Michigan.

you can be smug and laugh at these people all you want about fear mongering but it's real and it's happening. And while there aren't as many examples in the United States, there are examples all over the world where Islam moves in, colonizes, plays the long game, takes over geographical area, and all life there changes for the worse. I can give you several other examples if you'd like, but the bottom line is that it's happening whether you like it or not.

If you'd like, you can come with me and I'll drive you around this area and show you where we are in the beginning stages. I can also show you the areas where they have specifically said they want to Colonize and require that you are a practicing Muslim to live

Anything that de-incentivizes more Muslims in this country is a positive. Islam is incompatible with the west. Let them blow themselves up. And maybe in a thousand years they'll finally learn to join the rest of us in modern society.

I remember when in the late 80s/early 90s people talked like this about illegal immigration. Too bad we didn't takes steps to prevent it before it was too late.

All true. Their breed rate is something the average American cannot begin to comprehend. I believe Islam will be the majority faith in Texas by 2040. They will simply take over through non-stop, sky rocketing birth rates for decades. Oh, and BTW, we'll be picking up the bill for each one of those births.

Why do we pretend like Muslims are the dominant overseas foreign group moving to Texas? It's far and away Indians and Hinduism, bro.

Because many believe that's the same thing. Hinduism is just another name for a regional Sharia loving religion.

Islam and Hinduism are nothing alike. In fact Muslims and Hindus typically hate each other. The point is while Muslim immigration is a thing, it's completely dwarfed by the Indians moving here in droves on H1B visas. They have completely taken over a lot of the far north Dallas suburbs in Collin County, Coppell, Los Colinas, Richardson, and are well on their way to overtaking more elsewhere.

Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs all look the same to many Texans.

Go back farther: Satanic cults in the 70s kidnapping kids. Razor blades in candy. Terrible things happening in pizza parlors.

This current manufactured moral panic is pretty boring compared to those classics.

Halloween was a lot scarier when I was a kid in the 70s and 80s. Every year we had of 50/50 chance of being abducted by satanic cult or dying due to a razor blade in our Hershey bar. Those were the days.

Wow. Some actually typed this nonsense, this total rejection of Islamist crimes against humanity. In the off chance this is satire, I admit my meter can be too literal at times. But if its satire, its not very good because lots of idiots on the left buy this kind of crap.

So 9-11, mass ISIS murders throughout Syria and Iraq, Iran's mass murder of political/religious opposition just last month. ISIS murder and kidnapping of thousands of Children in Nigeria and the Congo, Mass persecutions in the South Sudan ?

Na they'd never hurt a fly or a goat in America. Just enjoy the diversity before they throw your gay cousin off a tower.

Oh and Historically we allowed immigration from Europe not the third world thats a recent demoRat thing trying to change American demographics to their political favor. The cost be damned

Dont be guilt tripped into buying the "fear mongering" line from the nutty left. Just remember how hypocritical they are and how they freak totally out when a Christian speaks at a local PTA meeting.

Trust your instincts and what history, both modern and ancient have to say about the topic. Islam does not play will with others at all.

Dude we had people on this board in an absolute rage about litter boxes in classrooms 2 years ago. Do you think that the real world can compete with internet induced inability to distinguish between their imagination and reality. And politicians have built a platform fanning those flames.

Do you think that the real world can compete with internet induced inability to distinguish between their imagination and reality.

Uh this is why people need to get educated on the history of Islam. History is where you find the reality. To bad people, especially the left, never learn it as they never learn economic and why socialism ALWAYS fails in a modern culture.

Its why they are leftest- all feels and no facts. Why else are humans so stupid they keep doing the same FAILED, things over and over again. Just look at all the idiots that dismiss the threat Islam poses. The current news and history books are full of thousand of examples that this is no false alarm or an over reaction. Its prudence- People need to learn the friggen differences.

Furries - Are Real I've seen them in the mall. Seek help.
Ten Commandments - good words to live by. Change the name if necessary
Bathroom Bill - This is what I'm against... Bathroom Bill. Men should be in the men's room
Trans Sports - No such thing. There are men's and women's sports.
Sharia Law - Not compatible with western society.

Point is, even if the sample size is small, that doesn't mean it isn't and shouldn't be happening.

Ask the Christians in Dearborn who get to listen to the call to prayer 5 times a day. They start enforcing sharia in their communities first. They now have the mayor and 2 councilmen. Now they tell christian citizens that complain to sit down and ahut up.

The push for sharia law in parts of the US is not happening.

Okay, it might be happening in a few places. But it's not bad.

Okay, it might be bad for those people but it will never happen here.

Okay, it's happening everywhere but actually it's good for us! No Christmas, no dogs, no alcohol ... all the things we didn't need are gone! Plus, we get that cool prayer music blasted at us five times a day!

Why do you liberals refuse to see muslims for what they are? They have flat out told the west what they are going to do and using our freedoms against us is part of that plan.
