Unfortunately, I hate to say it but we need to either nuke them or wave the white flag.

They're dug in like Imperial Japan, they'll fight to the last man behind the last rock. The IRGC is probably the closest foe to the Kamikaze mindset we've faced since WWII.

I don't think we're going to threaten them into any sort of deal that they don't absolutely love, and this limited warfare stuff is going to do nothing but drag on forever.

We do not have to nuke them. Destroy highway and rail bridges; destroy ports and airports; destroy fuel supply points for electricity generation. In other words, isolate Iran from the world in the dark. We can do it in a week. Trump apparently doesn't have the resolve to do it. He thinks he can outlast them and get a deal. He's wrong. End this now!

I think Trump is overly concerned about the general population undergoing severe hardship. The same general population that stood by and celebrated while the radical islamists took over when the Shah left in 1979. There are always some innocents harmed. In every war. They should sleep in the bed they made. Don't start a war if you don't have the resolve to win it.

For a country with limited missile and drone capabilities left, they seem to keep fining more launch weekly.

USA just need to put an end to Iran military for good. Or, get out of there and accept the fact that we did some temporary damage but didnt achieve the full outcome we wanted.

We could have ended them already if we never conceded to a ceasefire. But here we are 60 days later flat lining.

Note that they were building capability to launch or threaten to launch 1,000s perhaps 10,000s at a single time and/or target.

The strike after the initial response show this capability has been significantly diminished or destroyed. But they can still launch a few at a time.

The massive drone capability was a main driver of not the main driver leading Trump to take the action a few months ago.

That drone capability would have been strong enough to provide cover for continued pursuit of a nuke.

The immediacy was based on not how quickly they could get a nuke in the air but how close they were to a "drone dome" that would have limited ours or Israel's ability to do anything about it.

Regarding actual action, seems everyone is somewhat okay with the status quo. The Trump-Miranda Devine podcast interview sounded like a good one if it's not been posted.

That's real information from Trump. Though he says what he wants to and that may not always be the truth as he likes to test the misinformation waters when it comes to Iran.

I'm not sure bombing the hell out on them resolves them easing up the strangle hold they have on the straights. We have to stay a long time and fight it out trying to open it up or keep the blockage enforced for a long time. Seems like a stalemate . Unless there is something we could do that no one has mentioned

I'm surprised Trump hasn't responded aggressively at all. I know this will sound stupid, but I'm starting to kind of wonder if he's trying to show restraint to prove he's negotiating in good faith and not going to escalate further.

I just have to disagree thinking bombing them viciously is the answer. If you really want to secure the SOH you need ground troops to really take it. An invasion force to take all the land that overlooks those waters. Not happening.

Put the blockade back in place. Escort tankers out. Make the IRGC face the music at home with triple digit inflation and no revenue coming in. Oil will be 95 for six month but inflation adjusted that's really not that expensive historically

He's in a good position if you set aside how the war effort is supposedly polling for the November elections and the price of oil.. which isn't a small issue. Ground troops aren't committed so reduced risk of casualties. SOH in his control, Iran leadership has pissed off their neighbors, and we can stay as long as necessary to bleed them dry.

The biggest problem I see in negotiating an end to this is the Islam leadership if fine eating dirt and rocks for a hundred years to save face (ie not surrender). They couldn't care less how hard this is on their people.

I'm sure that the dividing of Iran will go smoothly and not lead to never ending wars between these countries and Iranians trying to get their country back. Who wouldn't want to claim endless expanses of barren Iranian soil while one of the other conquering countries gets all the oilfields?

at this point one has to ask what information Trump is being shown because it sure seems like the F16 is better informed about what is REALLY going on than the White House.
