Doubtful since they all seem to be on the south side of the Persian gulf (Oman, UAE, Saudi, Qatar ports)

Nuclear weapons would enable Iran to project threats across the globe that a million short range drones could not do. They don't need nuclear warheads for this because a bomb could be transported anywhere.

This, only ramp it up. Affect a ship, take out a power plant or other critical asset. Affect a second, double the retaliation. Either stop or lose everything important.

The problem is that so many of their leadership (and their leadership's replacements) have been taken out, I think their attacks are being called for by various lower level folks. I just don't see them completely shutting down the attacks for some time.

I am curious too about this and what the next 48 hours will look like in terms of action from the US.

Set a short deadline. If not open, provide full US naval/air support for UAE's troops to sieze Abu Musa Island. If needed, then sieze Greater Tunb after another deadline. Then ditto Siri Island. These are terms that IRGC's paddle-boat flotilla can understand.
