I don't think Iran has offered that. That is what the Pakastanis are trying to get them to agree to in return for the two week deadline shift.

With about four hours remaining, a potential breakthrough could still change the situation, the officials noted.

If they give an extension there needs to be a good faith gesture (opening the strait for the duration, stopping attacks on neighboring countries, etc). I think that's why there won't be a deal, because Iran refuses to do so.

Im sure the govt would, but the irgc probably wont because they are in a death cult

Yeah I haven't seen where Iran has agreed to that
That should be indispensable condition number one
I hope DJT doesn't fall for this

what is going to change in 2 weeks? All of a sudden the Iranian hard line leadership are going to be reasonable and negotiate in good faith?!!?!?!
I don't see how this changes anything, other than gives them time to hide more stuff and hunker down.......

Not much they can do in 2 weeks except be concerned that the general population has had enough of the Islamist extremism.
bombing them back to the stone ages should be the very last resort.

General population can't do anything about the regime. They don't have the guns
And, I mean, we're pretty close to the last resort, aren't we? Thinking the people are going to overthrow the regime is nonsense

Honest question:
Had the regime in Iran shown even a single sign that they are willing to come to acceptable terms? All I've seen are their demands list which don't appear to indicate a sense of what American and Israel find acceptable.

We had bombed over 13000 targets, it's not like we have stopped. I have worked over there, in a few weeks the temperature will be triple digit, the old will die first, then the babies if we knock out the power plants and desalination plant. Will not be a good look for the midterms.
if they open the strait with no fees for a few weeks for ALL ships, then we take the high ground and continue with talks.

No expert over here. But even if they did "open" the strait during a potential 2 week ceasefire… how much is insurance and other costs be to put a ship through that mess with a potential mine popping off at any second and hostile projectiles with fingered on the trigger? I feel like it won't even make much economic sense and the traffic even if "opened" during that period wouldn't be meaningful. But who knows.
