I watched from the sidelines on that because I felt as an expat my opinion was trivial. That said, it was pretty obvious that the school board never intended to "evaluate" anything and it was predetermined they had already made up their minds those things were going to change. Any public input was just a dog and pony show

There was a viral video a couple of years back from a Hays volleyball game where a Hays player unfortunately got spiked in the face. It was one a Facebook thread with some former Hays friends, and I joked that it was karma for changing the mascot. Little did I know there was a black woman who attended Hays about the same time as me reading the thread. She still lives in Kyle. I do land surveying and the deed for Hays High school says the land thay was sold agrees that the new schools mascot will be the rebels. Pretty cool

Thieves and Drunks with 20 DWIs dont get 5 years in this state. My Fentynol drug dealer neighbordealing to kids got 2 years.

Then another female minor tried to intervene and he assaulted her. Then he got his ass kick by the rest of the crowd of teenagers. Hardly seems defensible.

Should they have been out of class protesting? No. Should they have kicked his truck? No. But you don't get out of your vehicle to beat up on teenage girls for that.
