Now give the parents and students a ticket for truancy.

The distict put out today no more protests period.
They did not condone it in the first place. Today a middle school walked out in Kyle and tomorrow 2 more middle schools and 2 elementary schools were going to walk out. The dustict sent out a memo thay Common sense has gone out the window. The students that left this week are getting unexcused absence. The ones that stayed were commended. Watching these entitled parents whining is great. There are posts going around of another walkout Friday but it seems right now the State, county, and local entities actually worked together to get this under control. The national press is not good.

A Johnston High School Jaguar golf teacher was fired today also for standing in his classroom with Protest signs he made on Monday after the district said they are not condoning or sponsoring the protests.

Using children as pawns for political means is terrible (elementary and middle school children aren't protesting based on their own beliefs they are being programmed and used). This epoch of American history is such a tragic comedy.

This could also be fake so take it for a grain of salt.

Yes that is the stupid Hays Judge who is running for re election.

If the person that wrote that post goes to the Buda Police dept to give their statement cool. I hope they do. Tagging Paxston is stupid. The state was involved already because Buda asked for the states help because of all the threats the city and the family of the guy arrested received from all sides.

I hope the Feds get involved to find the idiots who said they wanted to kill police officers in Buda online . Charge them all

I said they looked like animals and are thugs. They try to destroy or damage property over a hat. They got the reaction they wanted and jumped because they can do no wrong in leftist eyes. They guy should have stayed in the truck but understand someone being at the end of their rope with these people.

My daughter would never provoke a complete stranger over a hat and try to damage their vehicle. She'd have hell when she got home. I'd tell my son to stay away from lunatic girls that gets you into situations where she pisses off strangers enough for them to come after her and him half to defend her. They should be in school not agitating the public!!

Surprise, Surprise " On Tuesday, Buda police said they arrested 45-year-old Chad Michael Watts, of Kyle, for two counts of assault causing bodily harm."

Are TexAgs posters who called these high school kids animals going to come back and revise their analysis?

Will you acknowledge that a grown man attacked kids and those kids stood up to him and defended themselves?

At this point I'm not at all prepared to acknowledge that "a grown man attacked kids and those kids stood up to him and defended themselves".

Here's why.

I've seen 2 videos that still do not tell the full story. The first video is of the man approaching and pushing the girl. In this video, the girl has his hat. We do not see how she came to be in possession of his hat.

The second video is from a different perspective that follows the first, immediately after he has pushed her and she lost footing to the ground. Boys approach from the side and tackle the man, and then both boys and girls attempt to punch him. Throughout all of this, I don't see him assaulting anyone. What I do see is him reaching for, and retreiving his hat, which has fallen to the ground. He then rises, pushes through the melee, and makes his way back to his truck.

We never see how he lost his hat, and what motivated him to exit his truck in the first place. There are unconfirmed posts that girls saw him in his truck wearing his hat and begin kicking the truck.

By no means am I absolving him of any blame in this altercation. But I am nowhere close to convicting him of all blame and of crimes based soley upon those small clips of video. And, I don't believe I ever saw him attack multiple children. I saw him push the girl in order to retrieve his hat, and then get attacked by a mob.

I do believe more information will come out. I also believe the county judge is not helping.

Does anyone else see the irony / hypocrisy in all of this?

I see many people (both here or and social media) celebrating the arrest of this guy and wanting him locked up for assaulting a minor.

A minor who was out protesting to protect illegal immigrants from ICE and being deported. Some of these illegal immigrants have been arrested for dealing drugs, sexually and physically abusing children and child trafficking.

Just seems a bit odd to me.

And for the record…. while I will wait for all the details to come out on this, I believe anyone who assaults a minor should be locked up for a long time.

Once I saw the video of the kids with the red hat I just assumed they stole it from him and he was trying to get it back. There's numerous videos out there of people stealing MAGA hats off people because their frail emotions can't deal with it. I assume that's what happened here.

There are multiple videos circulating on this.

1. He is not a teacher, its likely he was driving by and rolled his windows down with a MAGA hat on based on the aftermath video - what happened to initiate is unclear, but the video shows no sign of broken glass.

2. He exits the vehicle, crosses a lane, targets a young person and attacks her by throwing punches and then jumping on top of her (this is on video)

3. A bunch of kids attack him in retaliation

Very unclear why The Fall Guy is getting attacked in this thread, I havent seen anything untrue posted by him.

Not sure how to link directly, but the videos are in the post from BPD: https://www.facebook.com/BudaPoliceDepartment

My comment about the broken window was based on another poster's comment. No idea if that happened.

FG clearly stated that there was no provocation. That is a lie. You looked through the FB posts and obviously saw the assertion by numerous posters about them throwing objects, but you left that part out of your "objective" summary. Not surprised. Also, what I see in the vid is him walking towards the female, pushing her and she starts slinging her hands. The BPD said in their official statement that they don't know who started the fight. You left that part out of your summary too.

You libs simply want to believe that a white man with a MAGA hat stopped, got out of his truck, and attacked someone for the heck of it. Just like you pretend that Good and Pretti were innocent victims.

Equally ridiculous are posters suggesting that the beating happened simply because someone was wearing a MAGA hat. Hopefully all the facts will come out about this.

The only thing we can gather from this for sure is, much like travel advisories for foreign countries going through political unrest, at the present time in America it's best to avoid large gatherings of people.

You have to be kidding or trolling with this ludicrous statement.......

You can go on X and search "attacked for wearing a MAGA hat" and there are literally HUNDREDS of videos over the last ten years of that very thing happening.

I have a feeling some of you really believe the following definition:

Troll (verb)

To make a post either neutral or critical of anything related to MAGA-related actions or ideology.

Example: "I don't think wearing a MAGA hat to a large gathering of anti-ICE protesters is a good idea if you don't like to be bothered."

Non sequitur. His post is 100% correct. There have been numerous assaults on people simply for wearing a MAGA hat, and not just in a liberal no-go zones. Your conclusion that it's ridiculous to suggest that he was beaten for simply wearing that hat is bunk.

On the other hand, I don't recall any MAGA hat wearing white boys just rolling up and assaulting people for no reason. Perhaps you have some examples you can link?

Responding to an accusation of trolling with a statement regarding trolling is a non-sequitur? Once I'm done updating this dictionary I'd recommend you leaf through it also.

Once you've looked up non-sequitur, I'd recommend re-reading your bolded statement, and then looking up "hypocrisy".

Now we result to arguing semantics because your claim went over like a turd in the punchbowl.

Has it been confirmed that she was indeed a minor? Based upon the charges filed, it's very possible she could have been 18. But based upon all of the social media posts (and posts here), it seems an assumption is made that since she was a high school student, she was therefore a minor.

Student does not automatically translate to minor.

There was a walkout at my daughter's school last Friday. Neither of my kids participated, but some of their friends did. We had a long conversation with them at the dinner table that night. My daughter was crying because "people got killed by ICE" which told me she heard her friends say it and probably thought about participating. We tried not to dwell on that because it would have just pissed her off to the point of leaving the table. Instead what I did was told her why I don't like crowds, why I especially don't like emotional crowds, and why I ESPECIALLY don't like emotionally charged crowds where there are potential weapons where a couple of bad decisions by any one person can't result in unthinkable ends. I think that made the point a little better that trying to tell her that her teenage friends are idiots like most teenagers are.

Man chooses to drive by a mass protest.

Man allegedly gets a broken window.

Man decides that he's a big strong man who don't take no lip, and decides to confront the person he believes broke his window or stole his property.

Man summarily gets his **** kicked in seven ways from Sunday by the group of people who were connected to the person he decided he would confront.

If we want to compare this to the ICE aggravator that was killed, the correct answer is simple: stay home and you don't end up humbled by children. At the very least make sure that if you're going to engage with someone in a violent manner, that you can at a minimum defend yourself.
No one should have to work to survive. Your right to life should not depend solely on your ability to produce capital.

Lived here 16 years now and it has changed dramatically. Native Texan though from West Texas. The History of Hays County is rich. The amount of Confederate and Pre Civil War military items I have found in the area especially around Hays High School is astounding and cool. I did the same as a kid with my Dad in the San Angelo area near Robert Lee. It all started finding intact Mule chains with the US emblem. As an adult did my research and found out they were from the buffalo soldiers and the spring on our property was a stopping point between Ft. Chadborne and Ft Concho. I donated the chains to Parks and Wildlife for their traveling museum about Buffalo Soldiers to teach kids at schools. I hope to do the same for my finds here later in life. My adult son could care less.

The TV news in Austin last night was very careful not to even approach the topic of what happened to get him out of the car and approaching the protestors. Nor did they talk at all about what charges were being brough against the people assaulting him after he had disengaged and was one his way back to his truck. This will be a dramatically different story if it comes out that the teens broke his window and stole his hat before he exited the truck to get it back. Not saying that is what happened, but the fact that nobody in the media wants to talk about it makes me think it is likely to be something like that.

Wow...

That scenario is in no way similar to a guy going out to deliberately interfere with a law enforcement operation carrying a gun into a physical confrontation with a law enforcement officer.

I will say in fairness, we don't know yet for sure that he was a victim until we know what brought him out of the truck. But if it was vandalism to his truck and/or theft of his hat, he was. It would still be a stupid move to jump out into a crowd of angry teenagers to get it back, but it would mean there are other crimes and assaults that need to be prosecuted as well.

It is becoming apparent that guy was just a dumb redneck who drove over there looking to see what he could stir up. I should know because I are from Hays County and I are one. What a dumbass.

I guess our old school has traded Shop and AG Classes for Social Justice Classes. Too bad cause the old ones produced workers and folks a living.

You knew it was just a matter of time when the district board first orchestrated dropping Dixie as the Hays fight song and then did the same thing changing the mascot from Rebels to Hawks.

Ya Think

FIrst they took prayer out of school, then the pledge of allegiance (in most states), quit teaching Ethics, vocational programs in US high schools were not discontinued overnight, but rather experienced a significant decline starting in the 1980s and 1990s, traditional "shop" classes were just phased out. Mike Rowe has been all over the vocational training shop classes being phased out for years. Pretty sure he even testified before congress about it.

When I was in school first thing every morning we did the Pledge of Allegiance to both the United States flag and the Texas flag and at lunch the rang a bell for silent moment for prayer. Thankfully under Texas law, public school students are required to recite the Pledge of Allegiance to both the United States flag and the Texas flag daily. Just wish they'd get back to the real purpose of school and stop the indoctrination of kids

Yes the changing of the Rebels to Hawk was done during the George Floyd BS. It was the most stupid move. It was just a matter of time with Dixie. Travis high school in AUSTIN is still the Rebels. They changed Rebel Drive to Veterans Drive here also.
