Small world. I grew up in Manchaca in the 80s and lived in Onion Creek Meadows. We'd walk down to the Twin Creeks bridge and fish and swim in Onion creek when it was still a low water crossing. Didn't know how good we had it.

I knew a couple of people that went to Hays. We were just over the line for AISD so I was bussed to Crockett HS in Austin.

If they are students then they all need to at minimum be given truancy violations. Also these people are hilarious to laugh at. "Choose kindness nAlways" as you're throwing hands. What a bunch of virtue signaling idiots.

Sure we know some of the same people. Lived behind Chaparral Park in Hays County, used go fishing down off Twin Creeks as well. Have family buried in the cemetery back there. FG clearly stated that there was no provocation. That is a lie. You looked through the FB posts and obviously saw the assertion by numerous posters about them throwing objects, but you left that part out of your "objective" summary. Not surprised. I have a buddy who's son participated in a school walk-out. It was protesting gun violence. The news media interviewed him, and he gave a 'I'm just scared kid in this world' type of answer. The funny thing about all of it, they're a big hunting family. They have lots of guns in the house and that kid has grown up around guns.

His dad asked him, what the heck were you thinking, participating in that walk-out??? His son said, 'I didnt even know what it was about until I got out there. It was just an unexcused absence from class'. That's how I view 99% of these student demonstrations.

I taught for 9 years at a large high school of "street kids". Some of my students were gang members, had ankle monitors, etc. Hell one day I got a knock on my classroom door and it was the ATF looking for one of my students. I've lost count the number of times a student took a swing at me, got up in my face, spit at me, threw things at me, or shoved me.


I have never hit a student or shoved a student down, boy or girl. I've never felt the need to either. Just take a breath and deescalate because you're the adult. If someone broke his window out (not sure if that's true or not) he should have taken a pic of who he though it was and flagged down one of the cops that were nearby. Let them handle it. I can almost guarantee they would have handled it too.

This isn't happening on school property or as part of a school event which means regular every day consequences apply. Here's how that typically works:

• The cop would have taken a report, including any photos he had, and made a note of who he thought was involved.
• Cop would go to the SRO of the school with the photos and ask them to ID the student
• If the SRO didn't immediately know them, they would go to the teachers
• Student gets identified
• Student gets charged with property damage
• Student has to pay a fine and pay to fix the damage

That obviously takes time and doesn't always produce the immediate satisfaction people want. But that is the process. If you want to be tough on crime, follow the laws, etc. that is how you do it. Instead this guy got out of his truck and let his emotions get the better of him. At the end of the day he's an adult and should be capable of making good choices. I really hope his window getting broken is what caused him to get out of his truck. Because letting a bunch of teens rustle your jimmies like that is just sad.

Non sequitur. His post is 100% correct. There have been numerous assaults on people simply for wearing a MAGA hat, and not just in a liberal no-go zones. Your conclusion that it's ridiculous to suggest that he was beaten for simply wearing that hat is bunk.

It occurs to me that what I wrote could be interpreted as "take a beating". I mean take a beat, a minute, a breath, etc. I have updated my post to reflect that.





As far as having the right to knock her down, does he? I mean legally speaking. Let's assume that one girl threw something to break his window. That's a property crime. She isn't beating on his truck with a bat or continuing to damage his vehicle. I don't know that gives him the right to get out of his truck and assault someone when they are no longer a threat to his property




I also keep coming back to the fact that he is a grown ass man and shouldn't be so emotional. He presumably has a fully developed brain and understands that a bunch of kids mouthing off at him aren't worth his time or energy.
