As someone who spent a few years of my life on Govt assistance as a kid. I'm all for a system that props you up and fills the gap in times of need. I received free breakfast and .25 cent lunches at school. Parents divorced in '74 and Dad wasn't good about child support payments. Mom finished her degree and got a job. No more govt assistance.

Do like Japan did years ago and lower the payouts. Make it not so easy to cheat the system.

Walmart near me has the controlled carts and it is so annoying because the carts don't steer straight anymore. This isnt a bad area but there are pockets of low income so they'll just **** it up for people who want to shop. Some carts are worse than others and I've had to ditch a cart before because I shouldn't need to struggle with my cart because of thieves.

I think your monthly payments should be reduced after a period of time. Like 10% every six months until you get off of it. Then once you're off you have to be off one month for every month you were on. Disincentivize stealing from taxpayers.
