If I change billionaire to ultra wealthy or "top 1%" will all the panties untwist? They'll definitely need to be washed, regardless.

  • 2017 tax cuts added $2T to the debt.
  • Continuing the cuts adds $2.4T to the debt
  • Funding for the cuts?
  • $800B to $1T from Medicaid
  • $300B from SNAP
  • Still doesn't balance

$4.4T added to the debt so the ultra wealthy can hoard more while simultaneously cutting services to our most vulnerable.

But put the empathy aside, because I know that gets nowhere with the GOP. How is the debt increase justifiable from so called fiscal conservatives?

Being a puppet for imbecile democrats is no way to live.
The economy explored upward after the 2017 cuts. COVID happened and your party demanded all kinds of benefits. "Cut" to Medicaid/SNAP are to require able bodied people work and pass on cost to states that give extra benefits to illegals….and SALT was a crying point for blue states. Get your facts right

You need to be far more precise with your language.

I guess I classify as "ultra wealthy" to you? I will likely never see 8 figures of wealth in my lifetime. I am not some billionaire or even someone that can pay his bills through passive income.

News flash, the top earners are the only ones really paying net federal income taxes so any tax cuts would logically benefit them the most.

The ultra wealthy pay the majority of their taxes not through income but rather capital gains taxes which are flat and in the low 20% range. It is the professional class and small business owners, not the ultra wealthy that get hit hardest by the top income tax brackets.

You could have simply posted that you are against tax cuts. That would have been a truthful statement.

Because if you are not already in the top20% of wage earners, you are not paying a meaningful amount of net fed income taxes already.

And lastly this is not a cut. The tax cut already happened. This is preventing a tax increase on the professional class and small business owners.

You don't don't understand basic math and economics.

We have a Government spending problem.

There are about 900 billionaires in the US with a net worth of about $3.2 Trillion
The US government spent $6.5 trillion in 2025 alone.

Even if you confiscated all of the wealth of every billionaire in the US you can only pay for half a year of government spending. (and you won't have any billionaires left)

So you parroting asinine democrat talking points of tax cuts for the rich and not cutting government spending impresses precisely no one who has a brain. But it might impress the dunces on Democrat Underground.

Doge is the most amateur, hack and slash, bull**** excuse for an attempt at reducing spending and finding waste, possibly ever. A bunch of know nothing children running around in departments they know zero about just grabbing data and doing keyword searches for "DEI" words. Musk pledged $2 trillion in savings but found $150 billion? Much of it based on inflated or unverifiable claims. Half of the canceled contracts yielded no actual savings, and some terminations even cost taxpayers more than they saved. This wasn't about saving money; it was about targeting agencies like USAID and the CFPB for ideological reasons, not because they were the biggest sources of waste.

Then the indiscriminate, illegal firings and complete demonization of federal workers? Come the **** on. No one supporting how this has gone down is serious about finding waste, they're just being political.

They don't have a plan and that's the problem.

Do an actual, professional, planned review of the fed. Top to bottom. If you think that's what doge did, I have nothing left to discuss.

MJ is so full of ***** None of the cuts he references are slated to begin occurring until Trump is already out of office, meaning they won't happen at all, and he damn well knows that. Additionally, this "400%" schtick is so transparent. You can only quote a percentage like that because spending is so insanely ballooned in the first place compared to any other time, that of course any proposed cut you write on paper is going to be magnitudes larger nominally. The budget from which you are starting with is so much larger that comparing these figures to past figures is meaningless. And once again, he's referring to 100% hypothetical "cuts" that he knows are never happening in the first place. Which is exactly why bond yields are spiking and all the Wall Street players are calling out this bull*****

Scummy politician gonna scummy politician.

And I fully support the need to cut back spending on entitlements. All areas will have to be significantly cut. But in addition to cutting entitlements, we also need to stop wasting money we don't have on updating decades old prisons, army parades, and other pet projects. It all has to change.

Entitlements are the largest single piece for sure, a minority majority. But to say everything else outside of them is "rounding errors" is fanciful and pure MAGA cope. This is not all due to entitlements, not even close. Here's the math: From 2019 to 2024, our total budget grew by $2.3 trillion. Over the same time period, entitlement spending (to include SS, Medicare, Medicaid, and Other), grew by $782 billion. So that's $1.5 trillion in additional spending that has nothing to do with healthcare or social security programs.
