I stopped believing Rs were fiscal conservatives long ago and thats almost all I care about. Musk brought me back into the fold with his interview of Trump and his participation. I doubt I'll ever buy the R fiscal conservatism narrative again.

R and Ds are Thelma and Louise

Elon is going to be **** on by Trump in short order.

Followed by all the MAGAs attacking him for daring to criticize Trump.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Yup. Only reason to vote R is they want to increase spending at a slower rate than democrats.

I don't even know if that's true. Biggest difference netween R and Ds seems to be how money is wasted, not how much.

Did you notice the gif in my OP showing Thelma and Louise locking hands in unity before going off the cliff?

The analogy would be perfect if there were children in the backseat representing our kids and grand kids

Also, at least the Ds don't pretend to be fiscal conservatives or even fiscally responsible for that matter

You're not going to cut a lot unless you have a big majority in both chambers.

This bill is basically just a tax bill combined with budget and new regulations

From listening to talk shows, they cannot simply cut everything Elon found. It has to be codified and done little by little to avoid road blocks. Correct me if that was wrong. I'm all ears

And many representatives are saying there will be more bills to come with codified cuts and other cuts

You simply cannot get it all in one bill. And you simply cannot get it done with a 8 count advantage in the house?

Push the bill, get the tax cuts, regulations in place and start cutting the budget in future bills.

If y'all think there's a better solution, I'd like to hear it? A legit "can be done with this congress" solution.

None of y'all can answer that simple question. So what do you want Trump to do?

If you don't get this done the economy will collapse. The bill I mean. Than you're really in a bad spot. I'm talking Rs will be shredded in 2026 if this doesn't pass. If we lose major good luck on getting any cuts at all

Also I'm probably the biggest MAGA Trump guy here, one of at least

I will say he is a dumbass for criticizing the conservatives trying to cut spending in this bill. Leave it alone if they are not collapsing the bill. Let them vent. And work with them to get cuts in future bills.

Great summary and well said.

I can answer the simple question - this is what I wanted Trump to do. Push as hard and fast as feasible and be prepared for judiciary nonsense and rogue Rs looking to make a name for themself.

Won't change until someone gets into office on the platform of upending and ending Social Security and Medicare, which won't happen until either the Boomer generation have all passed or the US defaults biggly when no one else will buy out debt.

Unfortunately I can see one of those scenarios playing out in the next 10 years.

no one wants to address entitlements cause its a loser politically not sure what the answer is, congress only cares about getting re-elected.

Medicare and Medicaid should be addressed thru the cost of Healthcare itself. We pay double what our peers pay and its not like we have better results
