If you're Russia, you sat there and watched the CIA help install an anti-Russia government next door in your former state in the maidan revolution in 2014. You sat there and watched the west put labs next door. You sat there want watched the west flirt with admitting yet another one of your next door neighbors into NATO, something they promised they'd never do, so they can be even more bold with military installations on your doorstep. You sat there and watched the corruption get worse and worse- complete with foreign elites placing their crackhead sons on the boards of their gas companies. You sat there and let a foreign "leader" bait you with "minor incursion" invitation. You know foreign meddlers sabotaged a multibillion dollar subsea energy project that was going to bring economic prosperity for both you and your western allies. You watched the US send Borris to Istanbul to prevent Lord Z from making a peace deal. All of this while knowing a large portion of the population of this former soviet state actually wants to be part of Russia and they all speak Russian. Should they have gotten so bold after watching the weakness of our Afghan exit and taken Joe Biden up on the minor incursion invitation? Probably not, but that does not make Ukraine the holy righteous good guys that need to be defended at all costs. We've paid them enough and will get zero return. Enough people have died. Both sides want peace except for the western intel and defense communities that want a russian regime change and forever wars. Russia is not a threat to the rest of Europe or the US. Make a deal and stop the killing. Keep Russia close instead of driving them closer and more dependent on China and Iran. Let them sell gas to Europe. That is not "siding with the Russians". That is the right thing to do.

He's a hero because when the entire western world was making plans to give Ukraine to Russia and was negotiating his exile. He held his country together and they pushed the second largest military in the world back to the border and out of the Black Sea. Russia has lost this war already. Today we just aligned ourselves with the losers and against all of Europe and Ukraine. I'm also confident that China is happy to know that there is nothing stopping them from taking Taiwan.

Zellenskyy could walk out in to the street in front of God and country, commit a crime, and his biggest cheerleader here would still salute him. What he attempted in the Oval office wash bush league. He knew exactly what he was attempting and the little grifter got called out for it. Trying to gain favor with an unpopular American media by throwing a staged tantrum isn't really a sound strategy. It is intellectually dishonest and far too simplistic to just come here and say "y'all are on the side of the invaders" in this sort of situation. You guys can start writing the checks and sending them over there. You guys can go ahead and take up arms and show up on the front lines. This war doesn't need to be going on anymore, and Zellensky's behavior is doing nothing to help it get stopped. He sees his gravy train coming to and end and he probably doesn't want peace. The little midget can't even show up like an adult and show just a modicum of respect in someone else's house. Every grievance he sat there and tried to air could have been addressed in their private meeting. He's not nearly as smart as some of you give him credit for.

I'm with you in this sentiment and have grown more so the longer this has drug out. We are well past the point of "it's totally worth it to stack dead Russians". It's become completely disingenuous to support the endless death and destruction if you're not willing to serve yourself or send your children to fight.
