It has come to my attention that a number of my colleagues are circulating calls for Liz Cheney to step down from, or to be removed as, Chair of the Republican Conference for her position in support of impeachment of the President. I reject this call, and offer my support.
While we reached a different conclusion on the vote regarding impeachment, as we have on other matters, Liz came to her conclusion based on the totality of the circumstances surrounding the President's actions leading to the events that occurred on January 6th, 2021. Liz viewed the articles as the sole vote in front of us, and that we did not get the chance to edit them. I viewed them as flawed in their structure because the focus on incitement is dangerous as constructed. But, one thing is clear: there can be little debate that, among other things, the President's pressure exerted on Vice President Pence to violate his oath, and the false hope it sent to emotionally charged supporters, was wrong, troubling, and impeachable.

LOL.. I literally responded to his insult in kind.

And Elon alone didn't stop the bill. He just exposed it so that everybody could see what was in it. All the voters who can primary those politicians made the real change happen. No politician would have given a crap if it was Just Elon tweeting about it. The gazillion of phone calls, emails, tweets, and whatnot are what really did.

And show me a link to a tweet where Elon backed the 2nd bill after Chip pointed out it's bloated nature. Initially, the news was merely that it shrank from 1500 pages to 119. Not that it still spent about the same. I cannot find a tweet from Elon where he is bashing Chip. In fact, I do see Tweets where Elon Musk agrees with Mike Lee (who is 100% defending Chip Roy) and supporting the fact that the bill is being broken up into parts.

Take the wins. Shutting everything down doesn't actually do anything. It all gets back paid with extra. Momentum is a thing and Trump has it. The GOP shouldn't have done the omnibus and that was a big win shutting that down. I get Roy's point and I understand why he's doing what he's doing but at a certain point it becomes counterproductive. We've reached that point.

What's comical is the fact that there are actually educated people who think that the government actually shuts down when they say it's shutting down.
