A company called Shield AI has been working on this for close to ten years now.
They've already proven AI piloted drones, both large (surveillance type) and small (think individual spec ops) and an f16 dog fighting.
This is one company and technology we should be grateful is on our side, led by the United States. One of the founders was a Naval Academy graduate and Navy Seal.
Yeah, it's really a bit terrifying if AI goes off the rails or handlers are evil. And you really wonder if even moral and ethical people can handle such technology for multiple generations without corruption? But it's where we are, and we will need it to maintain a war fighting advantage
And then we'll need it up to fight the rogue AI we created but behaved unexpectedly.
If it came across the border, the current admin would want to hide that forever.

I don't know a single person who is freaking out over these drones to be honest. I still don't know what to make of it all. I haven't seen any singular video or picture that makes me say "Wow, what is that???" They're not dragons, or Star Destroyers, or fork-tailed devils, they're just typical drones and planes and helicopters with standard navigation lights. It's like a bunch of people spontaneously said "Wow, I never noticed that so much stuff is flying over us all the time." And that news caused more people to look, and then more people. But all I see (so far) is the same stuff that's always there. But it's not like I've seen every video so maybe I'm missing something. If nothing else it's an interesting study of human behavior. I get that. I'm just not sure yet they are bigger. How are people able to tell they're 8 feet across instead of 3 feet across in the dark from a mile away?
