At this point it's what we all voted for. Just gotta trust him.

I agree that swamp Rino's are all mad. Their days are numbered hopefully. People on here that are upset that Gaetz threw a wrench in Mc Carthy's shoe in speakership must love Cornyn and the go along to get along R s that have not been working for their voters, but for the dems. It is time to clean up and Gaetz will help with that.

Both are meh.
Prostitution has always been around and should be legal. And we are stupid for infantilizing 17, 18, and 19 year olds. They are the backbone of our fighting forces and all throughout history have been married and bearing children.
Something about young love hooking up is understandable, whereas an older guy preying on an underage female is creepy and downright wrong.
Edit: Just curious what age gap do you think is appropriate for a 17, 19, 21, or 25 year old?
17 year olds are children. Not legally but they're still children. It's gross and there are character issues for a man over the age of thirty being with one.
They are literally not children
Dude, teen age girls have been marrying older established men for 99.9999999999oo999% of all cultures in world history. In all likelihood the vast majority of relationships in the Bible were exactly like this.
It's generally considered taboo today but our current cultural perspective is the exception, not the norm.

If Gaetz gets the job, goes in and does a good job reorganizing the department, that would be fine by me, but that appears to be a huge longshot. Nothing in his background suggests that he's ready to manage an operation of this size, not to mention the complex issues the AG is confronted with from time to time. Gaetz is a PR guy at heart, and I just have a hard time seeing that being the right approach unless he were to hire some deputy with ninja like qualities who essentially runs the department and covers his shortcomings.aggiehawg said:
You have to admit that everything happened very very quickly with Gaetz getting the nod and then quitting his current seat, later on.
People being very confused about what the end goal was, what the strategy was to get to that goal and the execution of that strategy. Had a hodgepodge feel to it as it was happening. Did not feel like a well thought out plan.
Gaetz may come out and explain it better but right now, it does appear to have credibility as a possibility. Would be happy to be proven completely wrong on this.

I have no doubt they will do exactly as Jack Smith's thugs did and release very selective information, framing it in the worst way possible for Gaetz. It's what the swamp does.FireAg said:will25u said:REPORT: The “damaging” ethics report on Matt Gaetz is set to “leak” soon.

It's been 3 hours since this tweet…where's the leak?
And if something is "leaked", how do we know it's THE report?
And if it is THE report, how do we know the "evidence" in there isn't as valid as the Steele Dossier?
Again, some of yall are so hungry to see someone fail, you'll believe anything that fits your narrative…

With the way Charlie Kirk and others have been playing up the cabinet announcements leads me to believe they had foreknowledge of them. Kirk even going so far as to say the old "I can neither confirm or deny" line as a way of a wink wink about some wave making announcements. Things are not being handled in a way we have seen before. Not sure what to expect but I think there actually is a plan. YMMV

I thought the quick resignation was to comply with Florida election laws?
Maybe but playing that out to its logical procedural conclusion, the differnce between the current term of Congress with the next term beginning on Jan 3, 2025 would appear to not allow for sufficient time to call, hold, and count a special election before Trump's inauguration on the 20th.Quote:

On what basis? No one has been able to say how that would work. Personally, I don't trust the state of Florida to royally **** this up, and the special election gets tossed because the governor didn't have the power to call for a special election when he did. And then you have to start over, wasting more time.1836er said:Speaker Johnson literally said this on TV yesterday. The Supervisor of Elections in Duval County told News4JAX on Thursday it is working on where, when and how people will vote, as well as what it will cost.
"It depends a lot on how close they are to other congressional districts, how they will align with who's going to run for them," Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland said.
Holland has his eyes on what Trump is doing, and Florida has been Trump's go-to spot to fill out his administration.
