Im pretty sure people are advising trump on his political strategies here. If he felt he would lose the house he wouldnt do it.

It's not about losing the house, it's about the margin of error.

Republicans can't vote together on anything. The one thing I can say for Democrats is that they move in lockstep.

If we hold the majority with, say, 221 seats and three are not there to vote, we have literally zero room for error.

And you can bet that the Democrats will get to at least one rino Republican with all kinds of incentives to oppose Trump's agenda.

He still defends Swallwell against the Chinese spy accusations and has a very logical argument as to why.

agreed. but I am all in because. 1) not in the house anymore causing issue 2) Dems are going to go ballistic.

But I do feel this choice will be rejected in the end. Dems hate him, and you know several (House and) Senate republicans do as well.

Exactly. There goes any first 100 day agenda. So Desantis can name Rubio's replacement qucikly. But to be able to call for a special election, there needs to be a vacancy, meaning resigning before confirmation. Or if they choose to wait to resign until after confirmation? DeSantis could be faced with calling two special elections and cannot be held on the same day for obvious reasons.

Now who will be determining the order of these confirmation hearings? Thune. This could go sideways very fast.

Qualification pales in comparison to loyalty. Trump has to be sure his appointments will do whatever he asks them to without pause or question. If they won't then it doesn't matter how "qualified" they are. He learned from his last term.
