No worse than Biden hiring a sec of defense from the DEI playbook. What's your point.chickenfingers said:

Or the bald head, goatee sporting, red lipstick and dress wearing klepto Biden hire for the DOE.
Yes, a Fox News guy is insane.

Well....because he had two at-work affairs, one on each of his first two wives. Fathered a kid with his at-work girlfriend (became 3rd wife) while he had a wife and 3 young kids. I'm not trying to convince anyone that I'm right. Nor does this mean he cannot do a bang-up job. I just value character, especially as the leader of the military and myself being a veteran. Yes, everyone makes mistakes. But the goal is typically to not willingly make the same mistake twice, or thrice etc.

Viper16 said:So, what did you get your Bronze Star for?Darth Randy said:4 said:
For those of you unfamiliar with military medals, the bronze star is awarded for heroism in a combat zone.
Pete has 2 of them.
Not so fast my friend. This is not a post to disqualify Pete, I love the pick, but I had a first sergeant get a bronze star for never leaving the wire but once on a convoy he fell asleep during. Lots of first sergeants and CO's were getting bronze stars simply for existing when our OIF II deployment was ending while the Joe's got ARCOMS for doing all the work.

Serious question as I don't know. Does he have power to fire the generals or where does he power actually lie?Trump is now putting together a council that will examine which WOKE Pentagon generals need to be FIRED.

Let’s GO. 🔥
As a 22 year veteran and current active duty member, I don't know how I feel about this. Accountability is important but really don't like the idea of Generals making risk averse decisions in fear of being fired.
How so? I didn't see anything in his wiki other than having an affair and marrying her after his divorce.ToddyHill said:

I mean, sure Peter Hegseth is an Ivy Leaguer with multiple tours who spent over 20 years in military service before becoming a veteran's advocate.

But he didn't work for Raytheon and hire drag queens for recruitment. So is he really qualified?
How? That is not how military promotions work. Maybe at the highest level, but those guys are long gone now.91Challenger said:OKCAG02 said:45-70Ag said:Aggieland Proud said:

Obama gutted the senior leadership of conservatives.
Well, I am perfectly happy with Generals about being very risk averse to making overtly political decisions, like paying for gender reassignment, etc.OKCAG02 said:45-70Ag said:Aggieland Proud said:

Maybe. I don't know, nor care honestly. I'm more speaking to the character traits and track record of judgement he's laid out in his recent past. What his forgiveness level is with all 3 wives, all 7 kids and God is not my business.
It just makes for a very curious appointment. Heck, Trump considered appointing him head of the VA in the first term, twice. Didn't make the cut but 4 more years hosting on Fox and perhaps an additional book changed that.
