But if they keep insisting, do it in writing with time for written responses filled with :"as I understand it," "my recolledtion at this time is," etc. But Trump really does not have any relevant information other than he was shot in the ear. Never saw the guy, was not receiving radio chatter before he took the stage, etc.

Unless his statement was in court, lying to local/state cops is usually a very minor infraction. Lying to federal agents is a federal felony likely to result in a stint in the BOP.

There is zero reason for Trump tp talk with the FBI. Zero.

That's what I said. That's the setup I have and it just looked familiar to me (I realize I could be wrong...it's a grainy pic). But apparently I am dumb for thinking that could possibly be the case.

EDIT: I think I stand corrected. Just saw the non grainy image and looks much different to me. Looks like just red dot.

Flynn was not making statements as the victim of a crime.
He was in the process of becoming a victim of the crime. Not much of a distinction.

Edit: and the whole purpose of the questioning (or investigation) was to induce him to make a false statement, which they then ludicrously claimed misled the investigation, so that they could prosecute him/get him removed from his job. Their notes afterward even admitted they didn't think he felt he was making a false statement.

That's the parallel.

If you look at his rape conviction and real estate fraud conviction in NY and don't see why he should avoid those guys like the plague, not sure anything would convince you. No reason to speak with the fbi and no way I would except under my own strictest of terms.

A lot of people have their phones set to automatically upload photos and videos to cloud storage. Speaking from personal experience, as soon as I take a photo or video, it gets uploaded to my Google photos account. Should be data out there, not to mention they aren't going to go through the motions of cracking everyone's cell phone just to wipe some videos... we've seen how painful it is for them to even crack a single phone of a terrorist or other perp when lives are on the line. Now reduce that sense of urgency and multiply by hundreds of devices with varying levels of security controls and encryption.
