So the Chitcago Manual of Style caved, capitulated, tried to appease. All the more reason to leave black (or white or brown or yellow) without capitalization.

I always wanted to do one of those European river cruises to experience some of the history and architecture of Europe. Think I'd be safe from this activity on one of those.
Stay on top of local conditions before you do it. My parents did a Viking river cruise a few years ago and parts of the river were so low or dried up that they had to exit the boats on two different occasions and be driven down river to a different boat so they could continue the trip.
Friends had a similar (yet opposite) thing happen….. River was so high they couldn't go under a bridge.

Lol, no.

You used it as an adjective, which is not capitalized. It's also not a proper noun. Woke idiots changing the rules doesn't change that.

More lies. If Biden had actually gone to the hood to teach women of color to code, this wouldn't have happened.

I just returned from a Carnival cruise a week ago. Everyone was very nice and respectful. We all had a great time.

Carnival is the largest cruise line in the world. They have guest of all shapes, sizes, colors and backgrounds. Videos like this are bound to pop up once in a while. The vast majority of cruises are like the one I had.

So a criminal overdosing means we change our grammar?

I know what the libs say about this but I sure don't give them enough credit to put it into practice myself.

Every once in a while? I've seen three in the last month.

Also, are you saying that videos of The Culture sowing violence and destruction are bound to pop up every once in a while, or videos showing violence and destruction in general aboard Carnival Cruises?

Carnival is fine, but the trick is to pick the longer cruises. 7 or 8 night minimum. That will dramatically increase the level of clientele on the boat.
Yep, Carnival does a lot of 3-4 day cruises for ~$249 which puts it within range of the lowlifes that behave like this. Carnival hopes to make up the costs through selling lots of over priced drinks and in their on board Casino. Most of these hoodrats come home with a loaded up Visa.

If you are going to go Carnival do the 7-8 night cruises that are at least $600. Cuts out a lot of the hoodrats but not all of them.

Seems to always be a certain demographic. The hood rats who fight in fast food restaurants all the time will fight on your cruise ship if you price it low enough for them to afford it. Carnival needs to move up the price ladder until this garbage can't afford it.
Yep, well its left over culture that was imported from a certain area of England then the slaves absorbed it.

This may be why the Carnival Cruise I went on was nothing like the video.

Did a 4 day getaway Carnival out of Galveston a couple of years ago. Won't do that again. Ever. It was like spending all day/night in a WalMart and eating every meal in a Golden Corral. Saw some good fights with ~40 YO drunk women, too. Hard pass. You get what you pay for.

Even if everything was perfect, a cruise seems almost as fun as a 22 hr flight to Tokyo in economy wedged next to a sumo wrestler who shat themselves right after takeoff.

I've been on 5 or 6 cruises - all on Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Disney or Azamara.

All have been great except for a 3-night itinerary on an older Royal Caribbean boat that we tacked onto a longer Florida vacation. There were no fights or anything, but it definitely felt like a lower class of cruiser overall. And there did seem to be more partying and drinking than other cruises I've been on.

You will be because the average age on one of those is 80. My in-laws have done 3 of them and they are great. My wife and I have talked about doing one, but it will be another 20 years or so.

This is true. My wife and I (60-ish) went on one two summers ago, and we were the second youngest couple on the ship. The youngest was a late-40s couple with their 3 teenagers. There were a couple more sets of parents/grandparents with their college age kids along, but no more than about 10 people on the entire ship were under 30. The bars closed by 10pm every night, too.

Agreed with others above. If leaving from Galveston, 1) go on Royal Caribbean and 2) go on at least a one week cruise or longer. Problems such as in the OP disappear.

It always was a low rent crowd.

the only thing that made some tolerable was if they sailed out of Galveston they had more Texas contingent.

Sailed on one from there first and then one from New Orleans and Miami. Never again.

Royal Caribbean was much better and Norwegian was great too.

My observation over the years is cruise lines never send their best ships to Galveston. That's where old cruise liners go to die.

Yeah it often is third tier. But Royal Caribbean built a new $125 million terminal in Galveston and cycles through their Oasis class ships like Harmony of the Seas there. Those are really big and relatively new.

Carnival's largest and newest ship sails out of Galveston. Though it's only 7 or 8 night cruises and more expensive than their other sailings. Probably not as much of the culture on it.

I think a 5 day or less on any line will attract them.

My former assistant and her husband cruise on Carnival all the time. She would brag to me about how her and her husband would always complain about everything on their cruises and the company would give them vouchers for future cruises, drinks, etc.
