So the Chitcago Manual of Style caved, capitulated, tried to appease. All the more reason to leave black (or white or brown or yellow) without capitalization.
Friends had a similar (yet opposite) thing happen….. River was so high they couldn't go under a bridge.YouBet said:Stay on top of local conditions before you do it. My parents did a Viking river cruise a few years ago and parts of the river were so low or dried up that they had to exit the boats on two different occasions and be driven down river to a different boat so they could continue the trip.Vince Blake said:
I always wanted to do one of those European river cruises to experience some of the history and architecture of Europe. Think I'd be safe from this activity on one of those.

I just returned from a Carnival cruise a week ago. Everyone was very nice and respectful. We all had a great time.
Carnival is the largest cruise line in the world. They have guest of all shapes, sizes, colors and backgrounds. Videos like this are bound to pop up once in a while. The vast majority of cruises are like the one I had.
Yep, Carnival does a lot of 3-4 day cruises for ~$249 which puts it within range of the lowlifes that behave like this. Carnival hopes to make up the costs through selling lots of over priced drinks and in their on board Casino. Most of these hoodrats come home with a loaded up Visa.Aggie4Life02 said:
Carnival is fine, but the trick is to pick the longer cruises. 7 or 8 night minimum. That will dramatically increase the level of clientele on the boat.
Yep, well its left over culture that was imported from a certain area of England then the slaves absorbed it.Buck Turgidson said:
Seems to always be a certain demographic. The hood rats who fight in fast food restaurants all the time will fight on your cruise ship if you price it low enough for them to afford it. Carnival needs to move up the price ladder until this garbage can't afford it.
This may be why the Carnival Cruise I went on was nothing like the video.PCC_80 said:Yep, Carnival does a lot of 3-4 day cruises for ~$249 which puts it within range of the lowlifes that behave like this. If you are going to go Carnival do the 7-8 night cruises that are at least $600. Cuts out a lot of the hoodrats but not all of them.

You would never catch me on a cruise unless its a specialized cruise. That looks absolutely horrible.

You will be because the average age on one of those is 80. My in-laws have done 3 of them and they are great. My wife and I have talked about doing one, but it will be another 20 years or so.

My observation over the years is cruise lines never send their best ships to Galveston. That's where old cruise liners go to die.techno-ag said:
Agreed with others above. If leaving from Galveston, 1) go on Royal Caribbean and 2) go on at least a one week cruise or longer. Problems such as in the OP disappear.
Yeah it often is third tier. But Royal Caribbean built a new $125 million terminal in Galveston and cycles through their Oasis class ships like Harmony of the Seas there. Those are really big and relatively new.torrid said:My observation over the years is cruise lines never send their best ships to Galveston. That's where old cruise liners go to die.techno-ag said:
