He said he didn't. So did she. So no, we can't agree.

Quote:

On July 21, 2024, President Joe Biden announced that he would not seek a second term. Within a few days, Vice President Kamala Harris was anointed to become the Democrat Party's nominee for the presidency. During his campaign, President Biden used one company, Amazon Web Services (AWS), for the campaign's web hosting services.1 President Biden's campaign paid AWS throughout 2023 through the suspension of his campaign in July 2024. On August 20, 2024, Vice President Harris's campaign submitted its first Federal Election Commission (FEC) report that documented expenses and donations through July 31, 2024. In the report, specifically on Form 3P, line 232, a July 30, 2024, disbursement appears in the amount of $468.00 from Vice President Harris's campaign to Authentic Campaigns Inc. (Authentic) for web hosting services. This indicates that one of the very first things that Harris did upon taking over the Biden campaign infrastructure is to hire this firm, Authentic.

Authentic is a digital consulting and marketing firm that services Democrat candidates. Loren Merchan, Justice Merchan's daughter, is its president. Vice President Harris changed web hosting companies from AWS to Authentic immediately after becoming the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee. As the FEC report's filing did not occur until August 20, nearly a month after the Harris campaign and Authentic had begun doing business, no one in the public, including the Commission, could have known of the relationship. This is merely the beginning of a new contract with a new campaign, regardless of the amount reimbursed. Sure, there's an immediate benefit, but this is a play at a potential larger benefit for Authentic and Merchan down the road.

how is the pr0n star a key witness in that case? She would have zero knowledge about an accounts payable clerk at Trump's company years ago coding an invoice from an attorney to the Legal Fees account in the general leger - apparently the felony crime Trump is guilty of.

I think the legal claim was that it was some type of campaign finance violation which would be one of the possible predicate "crimes" to enhance the charges to a felony.

Completely bogus under the law of course but that was the excuse Merchan used to allow her testimony.

well, yes.. waiting so many years to decide that Trump's campaign should have paid this lawyer's invoice instead of Trump is the real crime that makes him a convicted felon... but still, how is the pr0n star the star witness? She would have zero clue as to the accounts payable and accounting and recording processes for Trump's businesses.

She was there to share the details of her sex acts with Trump to make sure everybody knew they had sex. Those details were crucial to the state's case don'tchaknow?

Bumping this thread with Merchan's decision supposedly coming next Tuesday, 11/12.

Edit: Or maybe I have my dates confused, and it's actually 11/26?

Edit#2: Merchan is deciding on 11/12.

Is it illegal to target people for political reasons? Because it sounds like she is admitting to using the criminal justice system to target a US citizen for political reasons. It would be justice if she lost her office for this. And her license. And her personal freedom.

Bumping this thread again since today is supposedly the day Merchan is ruling on Trump's motion to throw out the trial's verdict and dismiss the Grand Jury's indictment.

Any predictions given now Trump is president elect? A normal judge might be expected to dismiss this case as it was clearly political lawfare and bias favoring the prosecution was obvious during the courtroom proceedings.

My swag is that he does dismiss this. It's failed in its mission to hurt Trump, and can't at this point recover from the kangaroo court objective miss. If he doesn't dismiss it, it will just wind up getting reversed for his own error on appeal, further disgracing him. All sides just want this to go away at this point.

Merchan punts and suspends proceedings as the coward that he is. There is no final judgment nor ruling on the immunity issue, denying Trump the ability to appeal and have Merchan rebuked by the appellate courts in the meantime.

Horrible judge, complete coward.

Motion to dismiss is still outstanding. There are a whole host of motions filed at different times on which Merchan has refused to issue a ruling, precisely because he does not want an appeal. He knows he would be savaged by appellate courts were he to issue a ruling that could be immediately appealed.

Instead, he chose to let this hang out there, in his own self interest. That's a bad judge and lends credence to Trump's previous filings that Merchan has/had a personal conflict of interests and should have recused himself long ago.

In any event, after four years, Merchan will be off of the bench and will skate on taking any responsibility for completely botching the case.

Before the election. It was Bragg that asked for the delay in entering the final judgment and sentencing (if any).

Defending Merchan is not a good look, BTW.

pointing out the facts of what happened is not defending merchan BTW

even after the election Trump wanted a stay of the proceedings. he notified Bragg on November 8 that he intended to file a motion to stay deadlines on November 11. That is after the election.

Merchan did the right thing in giving the relief to Trump that he asked for. It would have been indefensible for him to rule in light of Trump's well reasoned argument that he should stay the proceedings. Its about the only good decision merchan made in this case.
Im Gipper
How long do you want to ignore this user?
So are Trump's lawyers mad that Judge Merchan granted the relief they wanted?

They asked Merchan to stay the case and deny them the ability to appeal, but they are supposed to be mad there is no ruling to appeal?

Coming back to this after being at work all day, but does this essentially mean that everything regarding this case is on hold for the next four years? What happens if the judge retires before then?
Im Gipper
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Technically, it's on hold forever until a judge decides it's not on hold. If merchant retires, a new judge will be in his seat. That person takes over.

But the order appears to Indicate Nov 19 is when the state has to say what it plans to do.

The expectation is that New York is going to drop this case. At least that's what they should do. They are taking this time to review the implications of Trump being president elect.

Remember, Trump has not been convicted of anything.
